I want to talk about that flag.. As u know this is an israili flag which named as star of david.. I wonder how can this "Catalan Atlas" create an affair between a Turk-Islam Beylik and a jewish symbol. This flag is wrong at all.

It is the seal of the prophet suleyman (king solomon) and this seal was used very often in ancient islam. As proof you can see the flag of barbaros hayrettin pasa which contains the seal of suleyman. Likewise some turkish beyliks used crosses and the cross is the ancient symbol of the turks. But, it does create an interesting suggestion of why in particular the turks used it and not arab muslim tribes. Maybe this can be explained because one of the Turkish empires (Khazar) had jewish as a state religion and after the break up of this empire they might have emigrated to anatolia and adopted islam. Name of article (Isfendiyarids)[edit]

This article is named after the ruling dynasty of this Beylik while all the other articles on anatolian beyliks seem to use the names of the beyliks themselves. Is there any reason not to use Candaroglu/Candar anymore? For what it's worth I don't think I've ever seen it refered to by dynasty (but that is not saying much as I haven't read much about this beylikdom, when I've seen it refered to it has been in books about the Ottoman Empire). First time I start a new section on a talk page so I hope I did it right...

Name: Candar dynasty[edit]

Kindly note the reasons for the name update have been featured in all page move edit descriptions.

To clarify, the term "Isfendiyarid" only covers a minority portion of the dynasty's / beylik's history, disregarding several generations beforehand, which are clearly mentioned in the article.

Moreover, "Isfendiyarid" only covers a specific period which is the Beylik of Sinop, and is therefore not applicable as a title for the entire dynasty, which as advised, this article covers at length.

Last but not least, it is important to note that the dynasty is referred to principally by the name Candar (the name of its founder) in the Enclyopedia Britannica, Enclyclopedia of Islam and wiki:tr, all of which must have a bearing on the name applied to the wiki:en article.

In the event that you are not in agreement with this name change, I would be very happy to listen to your reasons and discuss further, and reach a compromise either way. After all, this is the very essence of cooperation that Wikipedia has been founded upon.
