I find it hard to believe that someone would tag this article for notability. She is a Professor of Sociology, she has written several books published by leading academic presses, she has received an honorary doctorate at a reputable foreign university and she is a leading scholar in her field. Proposing this article for deletion under the PROD process. Poor RfC, procedural close. It does not appear that there has been previous discussion of this matter, so an RfC would be premature. In addition, questions regarding an article subject's notability should generally be answered at an articles for deletion discussion, since that's rather the point of AfD, and if the consensus is that the subject is not notable, a solution possible at AfD such as deletion, merge, or redirection would be required.
