Reference in article introduction[edit]

The first reference, skaneball.se, as far as I can see, doesn't confirm the home matches is played at Swedbank Stadion. It is confirming the club is affiliated with Skånes Fotbollförbund. Is it any doubt where they play their home matches? Regarding the reference: move, remove or replace? Grrahnbahr (talk) 19:11, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't really be a problem in my opinion. I figure that the ref would be more in the way after the comma than in its current placement.--Reckless182 (talk) 10:43, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly matches[edit]

It is stated in the "key"-section that the total-statistic includes friendly matches. As far as I know it is not common to include friendly matches in official statistics, but it is hard for me to sort out in what extend it is done here. A far more common way is to include competitive matches as Svenska Cupen and continental matches, but exclude friendly matches (see List of Manchester United F.C. players for an example). It could also be hard to sort out every single friendly played, and friendly matches are very often mixed up with the B-team. My question is whether it should include friendly matches or not, and in what extend it is done here.

Despite my questions: The list (or should I say set of list) is very impressing, and I am working on a Norwegian edition of it. A comment on the issue would have been great. Grrahnbahr (talk) 21:03, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is the way I choose to do it with what sources I had available. The refs for the total amount of matches should be accurate since it's from the club's official statistics. Friendlies are included in the total stats. I would really like a breakdown of matches such as league, cup, continental and so on. However the references for that is simply not available for Malmö FF all the way back to 1910 so it would be much too incomplete to be worthwhile. At the moment I think that the total collumn actually adds value to the list as it gives the reader a clearer picture of the players total career, but of course a breakdown such as the one I mentioned would be a hundred times better. For your own work I would recommend that format if you have the references for it.--Reckless182 (talk) 10:50, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for answearing. I do not have other sources by hand. I doubt older MFF-yearbooks are easily accessible from where I am, unless it is published online somewhere. Rebuilding a stats-base could may be done by starting building stats for each individual players at their respective articles, but it won't be finished within near future. Old newspapers could may be useful. AIK comes up with a lot of old match reports from somewhere at their home page, MFF-matches included.
My concern was, if older stats includes friendly matches, is then friendly matches played recently, included in the stats for current players? Grrahnbahr (talk) 21:40, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, friendlies are included in the total column for all players, historical and current players. I always check by the end of the year to make sure the stats are correct with the help of MFF-yearbooks.--Reckless182 (talk) 23:45, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
