Forest cover is larger[edit]

The actual forest cover in Norway is 37% of the land area according to official sources (direktorate for nature management), 21% of the land is covered by conifer forest (barskog) and 16% deciduous forest (løvskog). And this data is a few years old, so today is probably one or two percent more due to lack of grazing in higher altitudes and warmer summers.Orcaborealis (talk) 08:26, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Readdition of the link[edit]

Please consider the readdition of the deleted link to the website covering all existing and planned national parks on Norway on www.garycki.com The reason for the deletion was the anti-spam crucade (self-promotion criteria). I doubt there is another website covering pictures of all national parks of Norway in such a detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.60.217.12 (talk) 10:18, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

External links policy on Advertising and conflicts of interest states You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent. Unfortunately the conflict of interest editing involves contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote garycki.com. Such a conflict is strongly discouraged. this users contributions to wikipedia under IP 195.60.217.12 and IP 195.26.72.129, consist entirely of adding external links to garycki.com and is considered WP:Spam. Looking through the contributions as a whole, the all seem to be garycki.com related only. It has become apparent that your account and IP's are only being used for self-promotion. Wikipedia is NOT a "repository of links" or a "vehicle for advertising". Avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines. You're here to improve Wikipedia -- not just to promote garycki.com right? --Hu12 (talk) 13:40, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More on National Parks of Norway[edit]

Pawel,

As you can see, User:Hu12 (talk) replied on your links to photos to List of National Parks of Norway with an explanation of the policy. Of the things he says, the one which makes most sense to me is that links to Wikipedia are mostly used for references.

Your photos are excellent and would be valuable additions to the articles. If you are interested in seeing them added directly to the articles you can upload them at [Upload your own work] and we can them use them directly in the article. I do this with all my photos.

You do have to select a user name to do so, but registering is pretty easy - and as you can see from the above, we're all pretty traceable regardless, so the name is a convenience for us. By the way, once you select a user name you can sign your messages, just by adding four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message.

Should you want to go that way and have questions about how to do so, please give me a yell. I'm in and out, but will help if I can.

links, with exception to references, cannot improve the encyclopedia or article itself. I agree with Williamborg, uploading photos is an excellent way to contribute and help build the encyclopedia.--Hu12 (talk) 15:11, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
