Rumours! :D

The singles are on Amazon.com! They're gonna be doing six songs. Sorry, I'm too lazy to post links. xD 75.68.52.240 (talk) 14:39, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanking you! I'll add them in a sec if no one beats me to it. Frickative 14:47, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Misleading Information

Hi, I got an account so I could point this out- the article says that the song 'Afternoon Delight' is in the album 'Glee: The Music, Volume Five' when it isn't. The correct information in the slot should be 'TBA'. This fact is vertified if you check out this websites, which all show the volume five tracklist, of which 'Afternoon Delight' is not a selection.

http://www.getlisty.com/preview/track-list-for-glee-the-music-volume-5/ http://ontd_glee.livejournal.com/580144.html http://broadwayworld.com/article/Full_GLEE_Volume_5_Track_Listing_Revealed_20110221 http://www.teen.com/glee-volume-5-album/

Thanks!

P.S Also the song 'I Feel Pretty/Unpretty' is sung by Rachel Berry and Quinn Febray. Elizakiwi (talk) 06:07, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

It's on the British release of the album (amazon.co.uk, hmv, iTunes Store). Also, a reliable source is needed for performers of songs. Thanks. Yves (talk) 06:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry, just realized its already been changed. I noticed you don't have the original singer thingy filled in, you can get that info from the above link. Its a mashup of two different songs, so I don't not how you do that however... Elizakiwi (talk) 00:12, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Eliza, thanks for the link! Unfortunately, as the Glee Wikia can be edited by anyone, it constitutes a self-published source, which Wikipedia can't accept for verification. I've been keeping an eye out for a suitable source, and it looks like AOL have just published their weekly song list, so I'll go ahead and add the information in now. Frickative 00:33, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Dance Performances

Why do "The Power", "California Gurls", "Bubble Toes", and "Barbra Streisand" say TBA under what album they'll be released on? If they're dance performances to the ORIGINAL songs, I don't see how this is possible. Why would they put an original version of a song on a GLEE album? Thanks for clearing this up! :) 75.68.52.240 (talk) 13:56, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Inconsistincies

Between the Season 1 and Season 2 song pages. There are many. One prominent one I can think of is how Puck is referred to as Puck on the Season 1 page, but Noah Puckerman on the Season 2 page. Also, I don't believe "What I Did For Love" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" have had their album changed to "Glee: The Music, The Love Songs", unlike the songs on the Season 1 page that feature on that album. (Unless it's been changed since I last checked) And I think there are more, I just can't think of them right now. 75.68.52.240 (talk) 16:07, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Hm, I think you might be thinking the wrong way round - this list notes the Love Songs tracks, but season 1 doesn't. It probably should. I'm actively working on season 1 right now (albeit slowly), so I'll throw in some more footnotes to indicate which soundtrack songs are also on the recent compilation albums. Although that will result in quite a lot of footnotes. Idk, anyone have any thoughts on if/how that info should be presented? And which name should be used for Puck/Noah for consistency? Frickative 21:55, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, The Love Songs EP doesn't have any tracks that were previously on albums. Just singles. And I say it should be Noah "Puck" Puckerman. :) 75.68.52.240 (talk) 00:49, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Born This Way

Hi! The song Born This Way was performed by New Directions on the page now. But in the episode Santana wasn't on the stage, she sat with Dave Krofsky, right? Should it be New Directions without Santana or something?(Lubby ai (talk) 21:23, 1 May 2011 (UTC))

Edit request from Santiago1222, 4 May 2011

Rolling In The Deep is a duet between Jesse St. James and Rachel Berry. Wetpaint confirmed it.

Santiago1222 (talk) 01:13, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Not done: Don't think Wetpaint is a reliable source, but they were actually reporting a rumour. The article is here, and you can see they were reporting from Zap2it, which reports the song being a Michele–Groff duet as a rumour. Yves (talk) 01:18, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Songs of Episode 20

Nothing dictates that -I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You -Jar Of Hearts -Friday will be on episode 20. The only thing that your links go to is Amazon that state the SONGS will be released May 10th. Nothing states that these songs will be in an episode. I demand a change for reliable sources stating that these songs will be in an episode. There have been a handful of songs that the creators of Glee have released as singles and what-not that never aired in an episode. By allowing the posting to be as it is, you are allowing ORIGINAL RESEARCH to be posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Resident Evil (talk) 08:48, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

I changed the Episode information to TBA because nowhere in the SOURCE does it state what episode the songs will be in. I am changing this for reliability and source reasons. I realize that people will fight me on this, but there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the sources given stating that these songs will be in ANY episode. Please update RELIABLE sources to provide information on EPISODES, ORIGINAL ARTISTS, CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS from Glee, Et cetera. As it stands...one cannot even conclude with original research that these songs will be on any episode. I am sorry, but I am a smidge annoyed. Le sigh. I fixed it. Please do not change it unless reliable sources are given. The Resident Evil (talk) 09:18, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Prom songs

Okay, so I understand why Friday, Jar of Hearts and that Boyfriend song aren't necesarily in the episode. But, why are the OTHER three songs (Dancing Queen, Isn't She Lovely and Rolling in the Deep) counted as being in that ep? How do we KNOW? Do we have a RELIABLE SOURCE??? 75.68.52.240 (talk) 00:12, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

No. The sources listed do not state that those songs will be in Epiosde 20, only that Johnathan Groff will be singing and that the songs will be included on the 6th album. I have changed the listings. The Resident Evil (talk) 03:24, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

John Legend? Really?!

Okay, okay, okay.. I get that he did an a capellla cover too, blah blah blah. But, do you REALLY think that the Glee people intended their version to be a cover of his? I haven't heard the Legend version, so they could be similar, I don't know. But, it seems HIGHLY unlikely to me. 75.68.52.240 (talk) 23:00, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

And besides, all the sources I see (Including rollingstone.com, where it premiered) credit it to Adele. 75.68.52.240 (talk) 23:42, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Actually, the Rolling Stone article here notes that the John Legend a cappella arrangement of the song is used. Adele is the original artist, but the column is for which version of a song is covered and the Glee version uses the Legend arrangement. Yves (talk) 15:59, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

"Rolling in The Deep" - John Legend to "Rolling in The Deep" - Adele Alifzulfitri (talk) 01:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Not done:: Adele is the original artist, but keep in mind that the column is for which version was covered. Both sources present discuss that Glee uses the a cappella John Legend arrangement. Yves (talk) 16:01, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Edit request from Santiago1222, 8 May 2011

Rolling In The Deep is by Adele. Not John Legend.

Santiago1222 (talk) 03:50, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Not done: please be more specific about what needs to be changed. Please read the template you just used. In addition, you will see the previous two topics discuss the same topic: the column is not for original artist, but for which version of a song was used. In this case, the John Legend arrangement of "Rolling in the Deep" is used by Glee, which is verified by the given sources. Yves (talk) 04:02, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Deleted scenes/songs

This pertains to List of Glee Songs (Season 1) but I assume this discussion is more active so... yeah. There have been many deleted scenes on glee, and this has meant that a lot of songs have been cut. In a deleted scene which can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVH6nC50k1I, A chorus Line's One' is covered. Somewhere else i remember reading that Fergalicious was covered in Home, and then deleted from the final edit, although that may be a rumour. Songs like the 9 second long (if that) mash-up You Raise Me Up/Magic, i suspect was actulaly recorded in full but never released. Is there any way to clarify these and others. I rememeber sometime in 2009, Frikative was talking about a way to ask Fox about Glee on its main page or something. I think this issue should be addressed. They may be others out there.--121.215.76.29 (talk) 16:28, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

"I rememeber sometime in 2009, Frikative was talking about a way to ask Fox about Glee on its main page or something." Haha, you have a better memory than me! I have no idea what I was talking about, but it probably wouldn't meet verification standards anyway. I'm sure "One" used to be in the season one list - do you know if the performance is in the director's cut version, or only the unaired pilot? I can't remember which version it is I have, so I can't check. (Though based on this old discussion, maybe I did check and it was the unaired version?) I believe "Fergalicious" was once listed on the now defunct musical recap page for "Home", and there's a screencap or two floating around online, but I don't think anyone connected with the show has ever spoken about it or why it was dropped. Then there's "Hello 12, Hello 13, Hello Love" as well... My gut instinct says that the cut songs are worth mentioning in the relevant episode articles, but not the lists, as they never made it to air and thus can't be classed as songs in Glee. Maybe that's too pedantic though? I could probably be swayed if everyone else thinks differently. Frickative 02:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

AMAZON

Okay. This has been going on for a while and I think it should be noted that Amazon's pages for specific songs don't always list what episode the song will be featured in. Songs have been posted, claiming they are in a specific episode, but when you look to the source, there is nothing about which episode the song will be in. I think, yes, posting songs that amazon is due to release is good, but I don't think it is sufficient enough to claim what episode the song will be in. Forgive me if the rules of Wikipedia contradict me, I am just trying to follow what I have been told and read about for sourcing. The Resident Evil (talk) 23:26, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Light Up The World

The song "Light Up The World" that's artist is "tba" is sung by Desperation Band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CxseyR7 (talkcontribs) 16:00, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

New Song "My Cup" Should Be Added

Hey, not sure how to go about doing this, but on the Amazon MP3 marketplace they list a song for episode 2x22 "New York" titled "My Cup." I think this needs to be added to the list of songs in season 2. The link is: http://www.amazon.com/My-Cup-Glee-Cast-Version/dp/B00515W8NG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1305726435&sr=8-1

Fluba09 (talk) 13:55, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

I've added it. Thanks. Yves (talk) 14:36, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Just because it will be sold on Amazon, it does not mean it will be in the final episode. There is no source stating it will be in the Episode 22: New York. I request a change to the page! The Resident Evil (talk) 22:33, 18 May 2011 (UTC) Edit: I checked the source again, and cannot find anything stating it will be in the final episode. The Resident Evil (talk) 22:34, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

I would agree that Amazon doesn't say what episode songs will be in, but except for reusing "covers" (a certain background with a certain color slushie cup in Season 2) you can tell what episode a song will be in. Also, given that this is the last episode of the season, and we know that the songs that are for sure in the finale have a cover image that is a black background with an orange slushie, like "My Cup" I think we are good putting it in here.Fluba09 (talk) 17:06, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

As an addendum, here is a link of the list of songs in 2x22 "New York" from GleetheMusic.com. http://www.gleethemusic.com/us/episode/new-york. Fluba09 (talk) 17:09, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Fondue for two

Does fondue for two count as a song?--Coin945 (talk) 08:54, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Umm.. I would say no, but I may be wrong. I think the point of the page is to list full songs that are actually meant to be songs such as covers, originals, and background music. Now ya got me thinking. I suppose, with sources, it could be added to the page. The Resident Evil (talk) 22:37, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Well, the theme song (written by Adam Anders and Ian Brennan)) does have its own entry on the ASCAP website. - Jasonbres (talk) 19:06, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

"Crawford County Girls Choir"?

Where does it say that?? I don't see ANYWHERE where it say they sing Yeah! 75.68.52.240 (talk) 21:19, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Exactly what I came here to mention. I tried a search and can only find weak references cropping up in quite unreliable sources. But more than that, it doesn't really make sense. That school name is the Dalton sister school featured in "Sexy" and I see no connection here. It was also added before the episode aired. [1] I'm going to remove it for now. If somebody can find a reliable source, feel free to add it back with that included. --Siradia (talk) 05:36, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Couple things :)

Why is the album for Still Got Tonight, "Matthew Morrison"? I get that Matty plays Mr. Schue and he sings the same song, but "Matthew Morrison" is NOT a Glee album. So, why is it like that? Personally, I don't think it should be. But if you can justify it, I'll accept it. I just wanna know why it's like that. The other thing is about "Theme from New York, New York" that ND sings at the very beginning of the episode. It is not called New York, New York. It's called THEME from New York, New York :) 75.68.52.240 (talk) 00:29, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Well, since the article is names 'List of Songs in Glee (Season 2)' It doesn't specifically mean that the songs are BY the Glee cast, as that would come under the article Glee Cast discography. The same as 'Barbra Streisand' by Duck Sauce was included on the episode 'Born This Way'. Plus the fact that Matthew Morrison is PART OF the Glee Cast. Alinblack (talk) 09:55, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

The other New York, New York

This edit [2] removed "New York, New York" from the list claiming it was a duplicate. However, it did actually appear as a stand alone at the beginning of the episode. They're sitting on the Times Square steps and break into an impromptu (doesn't seem pre-recorded) rendition of the classic song (not a mashup) before Rachel interrupts them. I agree that the source that was there doesn't support this particular song appearance. I'm not sure of a source that does support it though, and wouldn't want to throw in my original research from the primary source. If someone can find a source, I think it should be included though, so I'm throwing it out there. --Siradia (talk) 08:58, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Rolling in the Deep

Rolling in the Deep should be credited to Adele, not John Legend. It's off her "21" album, 2011. Written by Adele Adkins & Paul Epworth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_%28Adele_album%29ParallelNight (talk) 14:14, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Hello. Please try reading the other entries on the talk page to see if your issue is addressed. This issue is addressed in four different sections currently, including the end of the one you added this comment to. The column is for "version covered" not "original artist" or "best known artist" or "written by". In this case, John Legend did an a cappella cover of the Adele song. That is the version of the song that was covered on Glee. It is the same reason that The Beatles aren't listed for "I Want to Hold Your Hand", for example. --Siradia (talk) 15:13, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

The song 'Rolling in the Deep' is listed as being sung by Jesse, but actually its a duet between Jesse and Rachel :) http://www.wetpaint.com/glee/articles/glee-the-music-volume-6-tracks-revealed Elizakiwi (talk) 23:17, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure Wetpaint is a reliable source, but they are reporting what Zap2it said, which is just a rumour. Yves (talk) 23:20, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Okay, cool. By the way, just listening to songs doesn't count as a vertiable source does it? Because if it does count, Never Going Back Again is sung by Artie; I've got the single. I'll go look for a vertiable source though. Elizakiwi (talk) 23:24, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

On Wikipedia, it doesn't, because that would constitute original research. That's why we can't have previews or song excerpts or whatnot as sources. Yves (talk) 23:26, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Is there a list somewhere of sites that can/can't be used for a vertible source? I don't know whether this site can be counted, but it says who sings what: http://www.buzzbox.com/news/2011-04-27/glee:stevie-nicks/?clusterId=3854690 Elizakiwi (talk) 23:35, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Indeed there is! On the page of Wikipedia's Glee task force, there is a handy list near the bottom. The URL you linked me to is a link to Perez Hilton's site—a gossip blog—which is not reliable. Yves (talk) 23:42, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Awesome, I'll know that for the future then! Elizakiwi (talk) 23:44, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

"Rolling in the Deep" is listed as being originally sung by John Legend, despite the citation clearly stating it was originally done by Adele. I just thought that was a fairly large oversight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.228.195.144 (talk) 07:51, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

I would also like to point out (as the person above me already has) that the song "Rolling in the Deep" is still being listed as originally sung by John Legend even though his name isn't even attached to the songwriting credits, let alone to the original song which was sung by Adele. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.254.15.41 (talk) 05:23, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
