Blurb for DYK
[edit]Did You Know...
...that Luis Jiménez, an American sculptor known for his large polychromed fiberglass sculptures usually of Southwestern and Hispanic themes, was killed on June 13, 2006 when a large piece of work fell on him?

I just moved this here, from the article
[edit]- "Category:Accidental human deaths in Texas"
because Luis Jiménez died in New Mexico and not Texas. Carptrash (talk) 19:53, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Mesteno no longer in Oklahoma?
[edit]I recently visited "Grounds for Sculpture" in Hamilton, NJ, and "Mesteno" was on display there. Maybe someone who knows what they're doing (read: not me) can look into that and update this page. Super! :D
- It gets loaned out, but its home is the University of Oklahoma. There it is fondly known as the "Demon Horse" for its glowing red eyes. 72.200.221.254 (talk) 23:14, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- I saw it in a museum in Roswell, New Mexico several years ago, where the eyes somehow seemed in place. Carptrash (talk) 00:49, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- I believe there are 5 of the 8-foot statues. So if you saw it elsewhere, it may also have been one of the other 4. Paco2718 (talk) 06:19, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
