Licence[edit]

I'm not sure what you mean -- it's not a program you can download or install, so I don't think the concept of licence applies to it. It's a service provided by a website. -- pne (talk) 15:04, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not entirely accurate. The source javascript holds the following:

/* All source code is (c) Mibbit.com. Unauthorized use/reverse engineering/copying is prohibited. */

Ethics[edit]

Mibbit now logs everything it's clients transmit using mibbit, i think it's highly unethical; perhaps add something about it to the article? 81.191.225.30 (talk) 23:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Out Of Date Information, Mozilla Firefox[edit]

The Section "Firefox support" Contains what I find to be outdated information. (Last edit 13 January 2010 at 18:36)

"will be used as the default IRC protocol handler in the upcoming release of Firefox 3.5" (I don't Rember if it was the default or not but 3.5 has been released for quite some time)

"The Firefox 3.5 nightly builds already support Mibbit as the default IRC protocol handler" (would need to be replaced with current status with the 3.5 release, or removed completely)

I also don't know what template would be appropriate for this section

Web based = Web chat?[edit]

The entry section states that it is a web based app but refers web based to [web chat]. Mibbit is web chat indeed and it is web based. But, these are two different things, IMO. I think that web based means "web platform", i.e. a browser. Browsers are not web chats! --Javalenok (talk) 11:26, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Out of Date Information: Twitter, Yahoo[edit]

I can't figure out how to remove the Twitter & Yahoo integration parts without messing up the cite links. In any case, Mibbit no longer has support for either, and there are no plans to bring them back. Similar IRC Clients[edit]

I recently heard about similar web IRC clients, which work using HTML and JSand doesn't use any 3rd party extension (like Java or Flash), and doesn't work using a proxy (therefore there is no use in AJAX) like Mibbit is. Both are correctly under development (and available only with an invite or registration), but I'm guessing that when they will be published they will be open-sourced. The first one is called IRCAnywhere and the second is IRCCloud. Galzigler (talk) 12:00, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
