Mid North and Adelaide Plains[edit]

The terms Mid North and Adelaide Plains (and the links to these) were removed from the article and replaced with better selections for the following reasons:

  1. Regions - the river is located in the South Adelaide region; the Mid North is located over 100 km to the north of the river’s alignment. However, it would be more practical to describe it as being located in the southern end of the Adelaide metropolitan area with the latter being a piped link to Adelaide.
  2. Districts - the term ‘district’ in South Australia traditionally refers to local government areas and now tends to get confused with classifications such as ‘suburb’. Adelaide Plains is not a district but is a plain as described in the state government’s placename gazetteer - please search for ‘Adelaide Plains, PLN’ on http://maps.sa.gov.au/plb/. Unfortunately, the extent of the ‘Adelaide Plains’, particularly the northern and southern ends is not defined in any reliable source. For the time being, I have substituted the City of Onkaparinga under the heading of municipality as the extent of the river’s watershed is located within the ‘city’. Thanks Cowdy001. As I'm not a Croweater, I appreciate the local knowledge. I made a minor change by adding municipality_type as a LGA. Thanks again. Rangasyd (talk) 11:13, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
