Former article at Peter Orr[edit]

It seems that both Peter Orr and Pete Orr were developed in parallel. Someone set up Peter Orr as a redirect page to Pete Orr but there was still plenty of content hidden below the redirect tag. I've merged in some of the content into this article. For reference, the entire original text (minus the redirect tag) is duplicated below.

His major league debut date was given as April 5, 2005 in one article but April 6 in the other. Perhaps someone could check which one is correct?

Copy of original article[edit]

Peterson Thomas Orr (born June 8, 1979 in Richmond Hill, Ontario) is a Canadian baseball third baseman, now a second base man for the Atlanta Braves. Graduating from Newmarket High School in 1997 where he played football and basketball, he played baseball throughout his teen years for the Newmarket Hawks.

Peter was a draft pick of the Texas Rangers in 1998 spending one year there before signing with the Atlanta Braves July 3, 1999. He was part of Team Canada who finished in fourth place at the 2004 Summer Olympics. His excellent fielding and speed combine with a genuine humility and positive attitude that earned him the 2004 Bill Lucas Award (Atlanta Braves Minor Leaguer Best Exemplifying Sportsmanship and Character) and make him a valuable utility player for the Braves.

Peter made his first major-league start on April 6, 2005 at second base for the Atlanta Braves where he is presently second in the depth charts behind Marcus Giles.

He was named to play for Canada in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
