We might need an article on Pithecanthropus erectus but this certainly is not it. Either needs total rewrite or deletion.--Bwmodular 13:30, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • I have NO idea what this is, but delete it now. And who knew that Teilhard de Chardin died on April 11 2004? RickK 14:50, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • Who? - UtherSRG 15:31, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • Teilhard de Chardin. I've heard there's some kind of free encyclopedia on the Internet where you can look these things up.
        • Sorry, my sarcasm isn't always opaque. - UtherSRG 16:30, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete nonsense. Cribcage 15:03, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, garbage. Quære: is Pithecanthropus a genus name still in use, or does it have only historic meaning now? Smerdis of Tlön 15:16, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • It's an extinct hominid. - UtherSRG 15:31, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • Just to clarify, Pithecanthropus is obsolete; the fossils are now classified in the genus Homo. An article on the topic Pithecanthropus should focus on the history of the fossils -- how the fossils fit into current thinking about human evolution should be at Homo erectus or something like that. BTW keep the current stub version. Wile E. Heresiarch 02:57, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete or redirect to Homo erectus for now. It's the alternate name for one of the H. erectus (Java Man findings ([1]). (cf. Peking Man) - UtherSRG 15:31, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, not a good discussion of the subject. BTW Ignatius Haryono does appear to have a bio at http://www.writers.net/writers/24369. Dpbsmith 16:18, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Stubified and growing already. Andrewa 16:28, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Well done, Andrewa. - UtherSRG 16:30, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, but make sure it is flagged as a stub. Falcon 00:08, Apr 22, 2004 (UTC)
  • keep as is, seems OK now ping 07:45, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • I've created a page for Pithecanthropus erectus, to which there were already links (eg Cradle of Humanity) and redirected Andrewa's Stubified page to this new page. Hope that's OK. Obviously no need to delete any more. --Bwmodular 08:26, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • Comment: Was there any reason you used cut and paste rather than move? IMO move would have been a far better idea. Move keeps the edit history with the text, and would have automatically created the redirect as a bonus. I'm not sure it's worth fixing it now, though. Andrewa 10:09, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • Sorry Andrewa - didn't even know about the move option - will bear that in mind when I next do something similar. --Bwmodular 10:51, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • Hey, no probs, we're all learning. (:-> Andrewa 03:42, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep as redirect - Tεxτurε 15:27, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
