Quality Control, Written by Subject[edit]

This article, per edit history, is written by Ray Winbush. But the problem is really the utilization of Wikipedia skills to format the article properly and apply the rules of notability. Wikipedia is not a resume. Or a blog. WP:ISNOT. And if everyone wants their own page, they should try Facebook. Is the author notable? I think so, but as a stub. But it is borderline. That will be determined by 2nd ref to the subject. If lacking maybe we need to delete the page.--Inayity (talk) 13:51, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to see this article has not been deleted.

Two buts? Jokes aside, that's an exceptionally narrow view of notability. Our good professor, Dr "Raymond Winbush" - Google News gets 89 hits as of May 2022, more than many profiles that might be named. Dr Winbush is both historically and contemporarily notable, I'd submit. Both for his academic work on racism, and his contributions to film as recently as last year, 2021.
Happy to add references. Jasonbrown1965 (talk) 11:29, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I *corrected* some of the errors in the original article but *did not* write this article! It was written about me. Good night. I'm not sure what you mean by "notable" but four books, known for my work on racism/white supremacy and the researcher on an Oscar-winning film, is, IMHO pretty notable. 2603:3003:3502:1100:C8B0:D16F:3F22:8603 (talk) 18:32, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you are Raymond Windbush, please see WP:BIOSELF and WP:AUTOPROB. For 'notability' in your case, please see the criteria at WP:NACADEMIC. Please note that autobiographies are not considered independent sources for a person's life; the early life and education section might need to go entirely, unless you can find reliable, independent sources for it. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 16:11, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"If you are Raymond Windbush [sic]. First of all, I *am* Raymond Winbush (you misspelled) my name. Also, whoever wrote the entry (not me) got much of the reference from my first book "The Warrior Method." I've done dozens of interviews so it is quite easy to construct an "early life" section, but again, that is up to the person who wrote the article. 2600:1003:A011:DCB:C807:FE20:F3E2:D6E9 (talk) 00:25, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
