Can wear cap in Memorial Hall?[edit]

It was old plebe lore that the only people who could weat their caps in the US Naval Academy Memorial Hall were Rear Admirals Sims and Evans. Anyone know why? Is this worth mentioning here?

A Sailor's Log[edit]

I'm pretty sure this is the guy who wrote "A Sailor's Log", copyrighted in 1901, now out of copyright; it appears that the book had a 1910 sequel ("An Admiral's Log"). So how come that wasn't mentioned? — Rickyrab | Talk 15:38, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, these are his autobiographies - very good books too. Robley Evans Bust[edit]

Was recently at the Fort Douglas Museum in Salt Lake City and saw a very nice bronze bust of Adm. Evans on display. Did a quick google search and see (https://learninglab.si.edu/resources/view/302856) that another example is at the USNA - as I don't recall seeing their example, I don't know where it might be sitting on campus. Evans was nominated to attend the academy from Utah so that explains perhaps why they have a bust (although you wouldn't know why as there is no information in their museum, he's just quietly sitting off in a corner of the gallery).
