All Hope Is Gone release date

All Hope Is Gone was released on 20 August 2008 in Japan. The Slipknot article does not specify what part of the it is talking about, so the first release date is the one to be listed. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」¤ • ¢ 17:55, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

10th anniversery edition

somebody put the 10th anniversery edition as an album. if you go to the all hope is gone page it will show that as the next album in the chronology. i dont know how to change this but it shouldnt be there. also it isnt at the bottom of the page in the summary part, and i think it should go under other realeases, which i also dont know how to do

The "Slipknot 10th Anniversary" has been fixed, and does not appear as the next album in the Slipknot discography. For your idea to go under "Other releases", the Slipknot 10th Anniversary will most likely not go under this section. This is because slipknot has had plenty of "Other releases", like the Slipknot Digipak, the Slipknot and Iowa Japanese versions, Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses (bonus tracks), and All Hope is Gone (special edition), but are not listed under the category. If in the future another category is made dedicated to these albums, it may or may not be rejected. CrowzRSA 21:54, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Genre regarding Rapcore

Some people have argued that Slipknot aren't a Rapcore group which is pretty correct, but thats in the present day. If you look back to their first album to songs such as 'Spit It Out,' that seems pretty rapcore to me. As well as other songs on the album, and parts of others, such as Liberate. Because of this, any chance of putting a Genre on the page as 'Rapcore (Early)' ? Coldthrift (talk) 21:58, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Personal opinions are meaningless without corroboration from a reliable source. If you have a third party reliable source which states they are (or were) rapcore then you're very welcome to add it to the article. black ngold29 23:56, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

ALTERNATIVE METAL

Slipknot were from New Haven, Connecticut. Stiemy (bass/vocals) was previously the singer in FATAL VISION who appeared on the "Connecticut Fun" compilation LP (INCAS,1985). New Haven at the time was the base of operation for Revelation Records. Chang (drums) stopped playing music after Slipknot. In Chang's younger years he torched part of Yale University. "F" (guitar) went on to play drums in another New Haven hardcore outfit, with Stiemy of Slipknot, called Malachi Krunch. Stiemy later took up art and a career as a chef.

Another track named "Some Friend" was recorded during the sessions for their s/t EP, but did not make it to the final product. Uh genre line up?

As it says in "Influence and style," Slipknot is generally regarded as nu metal, and states Slipknot are considered pioneers to nu metal. Yet the line-up in the infobox is "Alternative metal, heavy metal, nu metal." I'm sure this has already been discussed somewhere, but it still doesn't make sense. And also, there albums all contain nu metal, but most don't contain Alternative metal. And furthermore, it even says in the intrduction "Slipknot is a heavy metal band..." NWOAHM

Is Slipknot really considered a pioneer of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal? According to the page on the NWOAHM, it occurred in response to nu-metal, which Slipknot is certainly the progenitor of. Cappen Varra (talk) 02:38, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Wikiprojects

I notice that when I request to see the wikiprojects from the table above, it just gives me the info about the first wikiproject. I tried figuring it out to show all for of them while maintaining it in the fashion that it is (closed and open upon request). I didn't figure it out, so would it be okay if somebody fixed that or is it fine like it is? I'm doubting the latter option, but if it is so, then okay. Tours

Both the World Domination and Kill the Industry tours were headlined by Slipknot, so should not be in the supporting tours section. Excuse me, but what does Heavy Metal have anything to do with Slipknot??

You should change it to Nu metal/Alternative Metal/Post Thrash/Groove Metal

<Reply> They have abandonded Nu Metal, sure they have heavily incorporated Alternative metal and some songs have elements of Groove metal but overall they cannot be described as a groove metal band to co-incide with Lamb of God. They are also not Post-Thrash, I believe that's the umbrella term for Groove metal. {{editsemiprotected}} The section Death of Paul Gray should be changed. Where it states "On May 28 it was confirmed that his death was caused by a drug overdose.[90]" is incorrect. The reference only speculates that Paul Gray's death was a drug overdose based on a 911 call and his history of drug abuse. Police have not confirmed this and a toxicology report has not yet been released. So this has NOT in fact been "confirmed".

I changed it to the medical examiner is awaiting results of a toxicology test before confirming the cause of death. The reference already in use there said as much, as did two on Mr Gray's article. If not detailed it least is accurate per the three references and avoids the speculations. Genre

Sorry to disturb your page but shouldn't have Death Metal as a genre from The Subliminal Versus.
