This article is in the "strip clubs" category. The article is about a chain of strip clubs. Therefore, it fits the category and is notable.

Hello! Actually, notability doesn't have to do with anything fitting a certain category. We actually have some guidelines for what makes a company notable, the main one being that it's had non-trivial mention in secondary reliable sources. Since this article only cites a primary source (information provided by the subject of the article itself), I placed the tag stating it's of questionable notability. Copyvio[edit]

I've reverted the page several revisions due to the fact that the additions by 12.183.245.35 were copy pasted from the company's about page. Without these paragraphs, the article does not read like an advertisement so I have removed the designation. L124rd (talk) 21:02, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I made some changes because it really sounded very promotional. I am worried about the sources. The Observer looks good, but it does not appear to be verifiable. How sure are we that the Peppermint Elephant was real?[edit]

A 2002 Guardian article says that the Spearmint Rhino gentlemen's clubs were converted from a chain of children's restaurants called the Peppermint Elephant. And then in the same paragraph, they say that they struggled for a name .... that just seems off to me. I wonder if the person they interviewed was having them on? It wouldn't be the first time this year where I found something in a supposedly reliable source that i just dont believe.

We are not even linking to the Guardian story, ....we just have the claim standing on its own.

Try to imagine what went on .... for something to qualify as a children's restaurant, it would have to be something like Chuck E. Cheese, where there is as much space devoted to play as to eating the food ... maybe a skee-ball alley, bouncy castle, and so on. And then one day the prioprieters decide, "hmm.... you know, our chain needs a little something more." And all at once the whole chain converted to strip clubs.

I am removing the mention of the Peppermint Elephant. However, I'm removing it based on that it has no source, not based on my personal refusal to believe that Guardian article. If someone else decides that they want the claim to stay, I won't be as stubborn here as I've been in a few other areas.
