I think the original bit on shield regeneration was correct. Shields regenerate when the outer one is fully destroyed. Spottedowl 18:02, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's been at least 4 years since I played this, so I'll change the details. --Larsinio 18:18, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Science 80[edit]

The development of Star Castle was the subject of an article in Science 80 magazine back then. I saved the issue for years because I loved the game so much. I specifically remember the article talking about how the programming of the mines to have them follow your ship would have required increasing the amount of memory and thus the expense of the machine, and they solved this problem by instead having the mine go towards what quarter of the screen your ship was in, etc.

Wow: that's a pretty crazy optimisation that I wasn't aware of. No idea who wrote the above paragraph, but thank you for sharing. Bart.Read 22:38, 8 Feb 2020 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Vectrex Starcastle.gif[edit]

Image:Vectrex Starcastle.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Raster image[edit]

I don’t think that’s an original image. Aliasing from a raster display is visible in the diagonal lines and in the curve of the circles. I think that’s an emulator screen shot.

Compare the emulator shots and the video of the real machine at https://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9754 BrianSniffen (talk) 01:04, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Legacy[edit]

"In an interview, Skelly admitted that the stellar filed was made using the shape of a woman from a nude magazine".

What the hell is the above supposed to even mean? Cleblutie (talk) 09:04, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
