Tampo vs. Dabog
[edit]Is there an indelible division between Tampo and Dabog? They are somewhat part of each other?.. but it does not referenced the latter. Axxand SPEAK ACT 13:47, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Dabog is a manifestion of tampo... the act of making loud noises BECAUSE of tampo. Good point, though. Perhaps this article should indicate Tampo to be more of an emotional state rather than a range of behaviors. Dabog, though, certainly falls under the range of the behaviors under tampo, rather than being an equivalent. -- Alternativity (talk) 13:59, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- I noticed in the article that Tampo is always accompanied by Dabog, with which Tampo would be the emotion and Dabog would be the verb, and yes, the latter just falls under the behaviors of the former but it implies otherwise, I mean it denotes in the article that Tampo is Dabog. Another thing, Tantrums should also be mentioned in the article as that would be meant by Tampo in kids, though Tampo in adult would meant cold war (most of it). In teenagers, it would be Dabog. I am not sure, just giving my observation. I wish to expand this article but I mostly do my edits at work and I dont have access to other sites except if it is work-related. :) Just want to share my idea. Do you know tagalog? Hmph. Sige ka. Magtatampo ako sa 'yo. Pero hindi ako magdadabog. Bahala ka sa buhay mo. Well, not really, dont worry. I'm just demonstrating the difference. -- Alternativity (talk) 04:00, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Tampo is not just sulking? It's some special filipino behaviour? Next you'll be telling us that those can't-find-any-foreign-buyer jeepneys are a shining example of filipino genius. Please step over here, i'd like to introduce you to these Viets who claim that pho is not just soup. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.203.240.151 (talk) 09:09, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Every culture thinks it has unique elements, and while I agree with the above that tampo is sulking, and is expressed the same way with the same expectations of the offender's response in many other cultures, saying it's unique is a small cultural conceit of the kind that most cultures have. There is another response to a girlfriend's tampo, however, that has worked for me: it's called pumalo sa puwit. 99.28.211.247 (talk) 07:18, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
