1145 AD - The oldest fort at Vinukonda is on the west side of the hill, and is said to date from AD 1145, and to have been built by Viévambaradeva, a Gajapati. He is believed to have been one of the Reddi chiefs. The ruins of the palace testify to its once having been a very fine one.

1447 - Sagi Gannama was a governor under the rule of Vira Pratapa Gajapati Purushottama Deva of the Gajapati Dynasty (AD 1462-1496) of Orissa. He built a hill fort in Vinukonda. In 1447 AD Sagi Ganamma built the Temple of Lakshmi Narasimha at Vinukonda.

1550 - sami states that it was built in AD 1550 by Yellappa Naidu. He was of the family of Bomma Goviudu Kistama Naidu, who obtained a grant of 13 villages from the Malrazu Zemindar about the beginning of last century and built the fort which is still to be seen.
