Fair use rationale for Image:Wmctv.gif[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Image:Wmctv.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

new products help.com (their rrecord0[edit]

I Recently submitted and idea too their inventors group, they responded with what is called a contract for them to produce the product. Now they require $500.00 license/Patent before we go into production. My question is, are there any public records why I should not trust them?

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material[edit]

Hello, Please do not add unreferenced or improperly referenced names as entries to the list of former employees in the article. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

  1. WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
  2. As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
  3. WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
  4. Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 06:37, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Protected edit request on 22 August 2014[edit]

All news stations on Wikipedia have a list of the current and former news personalities at the station. For whatever reason, User "Sphsu" has removed this list on only this news station. In addition, a new meteorologist has recently joined the station.

I request that this section be added back just below the sentence "Formerly the market leader in ratings, WMC typically trails WREG by several ratings points, if not more.", under the heading "News Operation". Remove current "Former-on air staff" in lieu of a more expansive list at the bottom of this request.

News Personality Listing[edit]

All news stations on Wikipedia have a list of the current and former news personalities at the station. User "Sphsu" has removed this list on only this news station. In addition, a new meteorologist has recently joined the station. Also, "Sphsu" has deleted the Newscast Titles, which is commonplace for all news station Wiki articles.

All necessary info can be found here: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/category/5645/news-team-biographies

In addition, it makes no sense to have a "Former on-air staff" section, but not list the "Current on-air staff"...

I've put in an edit request to return this information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trevorbirchett (talkcontribs) 01:25, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

"All news stations"[citation needed] There has been a consensus developing against these. Most of the time they are just a list of non-notable people. If there are, in fact, notable staff members whose presence can be cited beyond those of the station itself, they can be included, but not like this. ViperSnake151  Talk  15:08, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
False, I have removed staff lists on WIBW-TV and WSAV recently. And as you point out in one of your edit summaries I cannot do them all over night, so I have been doing them when I do other edits on station articles. I have run across other that have been informed of this consensus on other station article talk, only for them (or a new editor) to come back return the information. It also customary only to have the current newscast branding.
Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material also gives the reasoning for not adding this information. Previous consensus was reached here:
There were probably more, you can go find them. Spshu (talk) 17:56, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
