Wolverine (comic book)Wolverine (comics) – Per WP:NCCDAB, the disambiguator that should probably be preferred for this article is "(comics)". (Note: Wolverine (comics) is currently a redirect to Wolverine (disambiguation)#Marvel Comics media as a {{R from incomplete disambiguation}}.) Steel1943 (talk) 06:30, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics) indicates (comic book) is correct in the examples given: "The Amazing Spider-Man (comic book)." In ictu oculi (talk) 09:08, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • @In ictu oculi: Intersting; the naming guideline contradicts itself. I'll leave a note about this discussion on Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (comics). Steel1943 (talk) 14:46, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
      • Scratch that; after review, I do not see a contradiction. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics)#Publications and other media types: "...when needing to further disambiguate a comics-related article related to media (when "comics" is applicable to more than one article of the same name)...", meaning that "(comic book)" should be used only in the event that "(comics)" is ambiguous. And per WP:NCCDAB, per consensus, "Articles primarily about a publication should use the phrase (comics).". Thus, it seems that "(comics)" should be used in this case. Steel1943 (talk) 14:56, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
        • The only reason "comics" shouldn't be used was if there was a comic strip, one-shot or graphic novel by the same name, like with The Amazing Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk.★Trekker (talk) 15:03, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - this DAB is a holdover from when the character article was located at (comics) - and prior to the NC that are discussed above being revised. Argento Surfer (talk) 12:46, 18 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Procedural comment @Steel1943, In ictu oculi, and Argento Surfer: I was just closing this as a successful RM when page swap informed me that Wolverine (comics) is immovable because it is a dab page. Any thoughts re the disambiguation page? DrStrauss talk 21:11, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • @DrStrauss: I'm not sure how that happened to you: Wolverine (comics) is a redirect. If you want to close the discussion and are still having issues moving the page, I'll perform the moves however you need them performed. Ping me, and I'll get it done. Steel1943 (talk) 21:13, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
      • Disregard me. Turns out that Wolverine (comics) has move protection. Since I'm not an administrator, I cannot perform the moves. Steel1943 (talk) 21:16, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
        • Consensus has been determined as endorsing the proposed move. The article is move-protected, please can whichever admin who sees this execute the move for me? Thanks. DrStrauss talk 21:18, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment still not convinced that any move is needed. The current titling is more helpful. Why exactly are we moving from (comic book) which is what it is, to (comics)? In ictu oculi (talk) 07:59, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @In ictu oculi: consensus has been determined as to move the page, if you want to start a move review, please feel free to do so. DrStrauss talk 08:54, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No not that bothered, but seems to me the comics guidelines here are confused and potentially misleading to non-WP Comics editors and readers In ictu oculi (talk) 09:00, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Some editors felt that "comic book" is a subset of "comics", which also includes "comic strips" and "graphic novels". The MOS prefers (comics) as the more general term. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:04, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
