John Lithgow[edit]

Do we have a source on John Lithgow's current residence(s)? Remember, too, that it is possible he maintains residences in more than one place, e.g. LA and Yellow Springs. -- SwissCelt 17:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This URL http://www.pittsburghsymphony.org/pghsymph.nsf/bios/john+lithgow and bio from Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra indicates he resides in L.A. Other web based bios indicate the same thing. I note that the wikipedia article on Lithgow also has him residing in YS - I think this popularly held misconception arises because his father, Arthur Lithgow directed Shakespeare here in the early 1950s and young John spent some time and did some early theatrical work in the area. http://www.oneglobepublishing.com/yso/drama.shtml#lithgow The immediately preceding URL lists John Lithgow as a former resident of YS. Notability of individuals[edit]

Would Sam Borchers count as a "notable resident?" He got put up and erased before...he's an elite-level runner on the national level to be sure, but there's the whole issue of putting extra pressure on a kid who's still only a high school competitor.

Drug Use[edit]

I live in Greene County (in between YS and Xenia) and I beleive this statement is way off:

"illegal drug use, particularly the smoking of cannabis in public places, is generally ignored by village law enforcement."

I have seen MANY people get arrested for this sort of drug use over the past 15 years I lived in the area. I'd like to see proof of some kind. user:Pzg Ratzinger

The citation for the statmenet that marajuna is smoked publicy on the streets in Yellow Springs doesn't actually say anything of the sort. It just says some people demonstrated in protest of anti-pot laws. Having been a resident of Yellow Springs for quite some time, I have never seen anyone smoking pot in public here.

Citation does not mention public marijuana use in Yellow Springs[edit]

The citation for the statement that marijuana is "smoked publicly on the streets of Yellow Springs" doesn't actually mention that anywhere. It primarily concerns a "Million Marijuana March" along Columbus' High St and mentions Yellow Springs along with 160 other cities involved in the protest. The only reference to public drug usage in the entire article is to High St (Columbus) marchers who allegedly lit up during the protest. "According to WSU student Laura Skaggs people drove by honking at pro-pot signs and held bongs out their windows showing their approval." "A few people covered up with their signs and smoked during the march," said Skaggs." This citation does not support the assertion. Suzanne Clauser[edit]

Does Wikipedia have to include an article about a person in order for that person to be included in a Notable Persons list? Mrs. Clauser wrote 21 teleplays between 1965 and 1994, including seven Bonanza episodes, several mini-series and several made-for-TV movies. She also has published several novels, making for an opus I think worthy of notability. Nevertheless, someone deleted my reference to her on the grounds of non-notability. Yes, you need to have an article on a person for that person to be listed. Without an article, you can't really prove notability, because the notable natives section isn't a place to list the sources needed to prove notability. Nyttend (talk) 19:59, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dog friendly[edit]

Hasn't Yellow Springs, Ohio been declared 'dog friendly' with a public dog park? Yellow Springs SMART Dog Park?[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Would it not seem desirable to include mention of this Yellow Springs innovation that hopes to 'go continental' within a period of time, after demonstrating market viability?
