ALT1:... that the townhouses at 10 and 12 West 56th Street, planned jointly for two business partners, were designed in different styles because of a covenant delaying construction on number 10? Source: Gray 2007
ALT2:... that stockbroker H. B. Hollins planned his house at 12 West 56th Street, now an Argentine consulate, in a different style than his business partner Frederick Edey at number 10? Source: Gray 2007
ALT3:... that the townhouses at 10 and 12 West 56th Street, planned jointly for two business partners, were described as being "paired in an uneasy dance" due to their differing architectural styles? Source: Gray 2007
Overall: Maybe it's because I'm a dancer, but I think the full quote from ALT 3 should be used as the hook. I have proposed an ALT below:
ALT5:... that the townhouses at 10 and 12 West 56th Street, planned jointly for two business partners, were described as being "paired in an uneasy dance, one doing the cancan, the other a minuet"?
This ALT removes the differing architectural structures phrase so that readers will click into the article to discover why the buildings were described this way. Thoughts on ALT5 are appreciated. Z1720 (talk) 15:18, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
@Z1720: Thanks for the review. I like the reasoning behind your ALT5. How would this slightly condensed version work?
ALT6:... that two business partners' townhouses at 10 and 12 West 56th Street were described as being "paired in an uneasy dance, one doing the cancan, the other a minuet"? Epicgenius (talk) 16:17, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
Approved, with a preference for ALT6. Z1720 (talk) 16:45, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
