  • ... that the premiere of Arthur Honnegger's first opera Antigone was staged in sets by Picasso and costumes by Coco Chanel (scene pictured)?

5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk) and Voceditenore (talk). Nominated by Gerda Arendt (talk) at 17:45, 22 February 2016 (UTC).

  • The article was expanded from 338 characters stub to well above 5x. Long enough. Posted by due date. Earwig's copyvio detector: violation unlikely. The article is interesting, sourced. QPQ done. @Gerda Arendt:, @Voceditenore: There is no source cited for "premiere was staged in sets by Picasso and costumes by Coco chanel". Did I miss something on page 135-136 of Cooke's book? I couldn't find it in Gullentops and Haine book on page 236 either. There is a discussion on the Gullentops and Haine's pages 108 and 193. Please check the sources, add/update the source or source pages cited in the article, such that the "premiere", "Picasso sets" and "Coco costumes" are all directly supported by the source. • Hi Sarah. I've added two cites to the sentence in the lead: It premiered on 28 December 1927 at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie with sets designed by Pablo Picasso and costumes by Coco Chanel. The Fulcher (2005) reference pp.187-188 states: "Premiering in Brussels in 1927, Antigone also included sets by Picasso and costumes by Coco Chanel" The sentence starts at the end of p. 187 and concludes at the top of p. 188 [1], I also added the Casaglia reference which states the exact date of the premiere (28 December) and the name of the theatre in Brussells (La Monnaie). • Hook verified. @Voceditenore: Thanks for adding the sources. This is good to go. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 10:34, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
  • @Gerda Arendt:@Voceditenore: There are licensing concerns on the image used (this should have been reviewed in the first place). For starters, it does not have a US public domain tag. Secondly the current tag's rationale is that the author died 70 years ago, yet the author is not listed nor the date of their death. I'd suggest this is either used without the image or more work is done to clear the copyright status of the image. I do think the image would be great on the Main Page, but these issues need to be fixed first. Jolly Ω Janner 05:30, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
  • Just leave out the image. I don't have the time to do further research on it. The link to Gallica on the file is now broken, and I can't find it there even after doing a search. Voceditenore (talk) 06:37, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
  • Same here, always feel helpless when it comes to image licenses. I asked friends, though, so perhaps give it a day. If nothing comes up, I think it would qualify for quirky, even if serious, - same as for the Busoni nom for 1 April, his birthday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:16, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
