Maha Sammata[edit]

New enough, long enough, with interesting and neutral hook. However, I see a number of problems. The hook does not quite agree with the statement in the article - it says that Maha Sammata was 'elected', but the article merely says that he was 'chosen'. Since there are other ways to choose someone than electing them, the hook is not, IMO, fully supported. Secondly, the inline citation for the hook is incomplete, and lacks information on the source, stating only the author's surname and the year of publication. This is not sufficient to unambiguously identify and verify the source. Finally, although it is not strictly part of the DYK criteria, IMO, the article needs copyediting for grammar and clarity. - On further examination, the citations complete, but incorrectly formatted (that is, the name of the book was used as if it were the surname of the author in the inline section, but not in the bibliography, so the two didn't match). - Thanks for the review. (Kapferer 1997: 68) uses both "chose" and "elect". Anyway, just to be clear, I've changed the inline text to "elected", and added a citation for it.
