Yu Kanda[edit]

  • ALT1: ... that D.Gray-man character Yu Kanda is nine years old, despite looking like a young adult?

Created by Tintor2 (talk). Self-nominated at 00:02, 7 June 2016 (UTC).

  • New enough, created from scratch. Long enough. Is neutral, cited properly, no copyvio. Both hooks are short enough and properly formatted, but both are sourced offline so assuming AGF. ALT1 had a grammatical error which I've fixed. Nominator should be QPQ exempt. Satellizer el Bridget (Talk) 08:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but I have a few questions. Is the Appearances section equivalent to a Plot section? If not, the third paragraph needs at least one cite, per Rule D2. Is the expansion tag necessary, or can it be appended after this appears on the main page? And would you mind pointing me to the sentence with the inline cite that verifies the ALT0 hook fact? (I struck ALT1 per Rule C6.) Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 20:22, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Note: Nominator has less than 5 DYK credits, so no QPQ needed. Yoninah (talk) 20:24, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
I don't know what is a QPQ but I tried referencing the unreferenced part.Tintor2 (talk) 21:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
@Yoninah:, Also I removed the expand tag.Tintor2 (talk) 00:37, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
  • @Tintor2: A QPQ is the review of another DYK nomination, which is required of nominators who have more than 5 DYK credits. Since you have less than 5 DYK credits, you do not need to submit a review of someone else's nomination. Thank you for adding the refs to Appearances. I am still unable to find the sentence with the inline cite that verifies the hook fact. Yoninah (talk) 08:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
Not the nominator, but when I reviewed the article I passed "The character of Yu Kanda was carried over from two unpublished titles created by Katsura Hoshino.[4]" from the "Creation and conception" section to be the sourcing for ALT0. I guess changing the hook from "a previous manga" to "two unpublished titles" might be more accurate. Satellizer el Bridget (Talk) 11:28, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Right. The hook fact should be stated in the article. But now it's becoming less hooky: ... that the D.Gray-man character Yu Kanda was taken from two unpublished titles written by the author? Surely we can find a hookier hook? Yoninah (talk) 14:09, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
@Yoninah: I tried rewording to make it just like DYK.Tintor2 (talk) 16:07, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
  • @Tintor2: I don't see the hook wording in the article. I see: The character of Yu Kanda was carried over from one unpublished title created by Katsura Hoshino. Is that what you're referring to? Do you want to write:
  • ALT2: ... that the D.Gray-man character Yu Kanda was taken from an unpublished manga written by the same author? Yoninah (talk) 21:24, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
@Yoninah: I'm okay with what you wrote. We might as well use it.Tintor2 (talk) 23:16, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
  • OK, thanks. Since I just tweaked the grammar in ALT0, I'll go ahead and approve this. Offline ALT2 hook ref AGF and cited inline. Rest of review per Satellizer. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 23:32, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
