Rated People is a privately owned online trade recommendation service, headquartered in Buckingham Gate, London. Rated People was founded in 2005 by Andrew Skipwith to rival traditional tradesmen directory services[1].

Rated People works with a group of celebrity brand ambassadors that include Fiona Fullerton[2], Phil Spencer [3], Toby Buckland [4], and Abigail Ahern[5].

Company history[edit]

Rated People was founded in 2005 by Andrew Skipwith. Leadership of the company was taken over by Chris Havemann, formerly of e-Rewards Inc, in November 2012[6].

In 2011, Rated People announced that it had secured investment from Frog Capital to further support the company’s growth [7].

In 2012, Rated People launched an iPhone and Android app to allow people to search for a tradesman through their mobile phone.[8]

In 2013, Rated People announced a collaboration with iZettle[9] to allow its tradesmen to take mobile payments for work[10].

In March 2013, Rated People announced the launch of RatedApprenticeships.com; its website to help connect tradesmen to young people searching for an apprenticeship[11].
