January 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Philipnelson99. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to United States Secretary of the Navy—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

February 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to USS Shiloh (CG-67). Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions.
Additonally, don't just make up some random ref name and slap on your entry to try and make it appear sourced. It just creates problems that others editors have to fix for you. (Plus how can you miss the LARGE RED: "Cite error... " notice on the page?)

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, 163.251.96.20. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page US Navy, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. - wolf 07:30, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Added note[edit]

Seeing as how you are editing multiple US Navy articles, such as ships and other related subjects, and doing so from a Navy computer, you are strongly encouraged to read the WP:COI guidelines, and ensure that you follow any directions that apply to you, before you edit any articles related to the United States military or government. Thank you - wolf 07:39, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
