October 2016[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Barry Gardiner, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 10:47, 10 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

References[edit]

Please reference that he is a Secular Humanist. Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:footnotes. February 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm IronGargoyle. I noticed that in this edit to Homosexuality in the Batman franchise, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. IronGargoyle (talk) 16:30, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Organisations that change their names[edit]

Please note that if a person P was an officer of an organisation called O at some date in the past, it makes no difference if O renames itself to O' today, P was still in O once, the fact has not changed and we must not change it. It is fine to update the wikilink rather than rely on a redirect, but if so you must use a pipe to say "P was an officer of [[O'|O]]". I hope this is clear. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:42, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not "update" the wikilinks, WP:NOTBROKEN strongly discourages this. DuncanHill (talk) 14:11, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop![edit]

Please stop changing British Humanist Association to Humanists UK. You have already been asked to stop by another editor. You are introducing anachronisms into articles by calling an organisation by a name it was not known by at the time being referred to. DuncanHill (talk) 14:06, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I have stopped changing the name when it refers to before May 2017 when the name was changed. I am now only changing current references to the name since it is inaccurate to refer to it by a name it no longer uses.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.68.252.110 (talk) 14:11, 27 February 2018‎

You need to go back and check all your edits before you carry on. It is not acceptable for you to make so many changes willy nilly and then leave it to others to sort out the mess. DuncanHill (talk) 14:13, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise and have done so — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.68.252.110 (talk) 14:30, 27 February 2018‎
