Citations are needed[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from 2020 Libyan protests. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. This was the edit in which you removed a {{citation needed}} tag. Boud (talk) 15:35, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Idrees Sorry about the removal, I accidentally deleted it because I was typing fast and accidentally deleted the line. I was checking the Wikipedia tutorial on a different log in and learnt a couple new things. Thank you for reminding me about the accident. IdreesHussain123

November 2020[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 2019–20 Iranian protests, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 16:03, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Idrees Hi I am just informing you that I am getting information from videos from Iranian media and witnesses during protests this month and last month. In the 2020 Egyptian protests, I noticed a lot of misinformation so I kind of changed it. Am I allowed to re-write the notes that I just written and posted. I also want to know how to make new pages to talk about something like the 2018-19 Mongolia protests and constitutional crisis.

Hi Idrees. I don't think you're ready to create new pages yet. First you have to learn a bit more about Wikipedia editing and communication and give others a chance to help you learn from mistakes. Please look at the various links on this page - you probably see them as blue underlined words, though that depends on what physical device and software you use; it's probably best to open each link in a new tab, so that you can read them in parallel:
  • it would make your editing a lot easier if you created an account (this would also make you more anonymous);
  • you must give sources for your material;
  • you can start editing a page, look at the source, and then cancel without saving, to see how the source is structured;
  • even without creating an account, when you edit this talk page (or other talk pages), even though it's "yours" (the others aren't "yours"), you should sign with four tildes ~~~~ to help clarify that it's you who writes the comment and when you wrote it.
Please also take the time to read through most of the links (clickable things) above. That will help you to understand how editing policy and communication within Wikipedia functions right now (it's not hardwired in stone, it may continue to evolve in the future). Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to 2019–20 Iranian protests. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Materialscientist (talk) 17:53, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • You have been warned often enough; your edits are prima facie already unacceptable: they are unexplained, unverified, not in agreement with the MOS, and they break up the formatting. Drmies (talk) 19:35, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to 2020 Egyptian protests, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. I deleted it but some of my edits have been deleted and it has a source.

Please can I learn about

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Template:Ongoing protests, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 11:24, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to 2011 Omani protests.
