John Darley[edit]

There is actually a page called John Darley - why is it not here?

  • What are you talking about? There never was a page called John Darley until you created it. Your confusion may arise because you initially created the page at "John Darley" (ie. with "'s around the title) for some incomprehensible reason. -- RHaworth 12:54, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Katy Harris[edit]

A, I've left a note at this article in answer to your query there. perhaps that will be adequate response? ww 17:03, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Starrhawk[edit]

A tag has been placed on Starrhawk, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Starrhawk is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Starrhawk. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. -- Gekedo 18:37, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to add my name to the list of Wikipedians interested in psychology - how do I do this? ACEO 18:46, 30 July 2006 (UTC) Thank you for letting me know - I had just put her name in as some one who is quite a big name in contemporary Paganism, but am happy for it to be deleted if it its current content is too slight to make it worthwhile. The less stubs in Wikipedia, the better in my view! ACEO 18:45, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Belated response from DoctorW[edit]

On my talk page you wrote:

Thank you
I just I thought I would thank you for all your debate on the Psychology of Religion page, which I have found of interest. As with you, my background is in Psychology (I teach and research the subject, and completed my Ph.D. in Psychology last calendar year, 2005) and have found your contributions of interest. I applaud your suggestion to use American Psychological Association referencing. I am based in the United Kingdom myself, and would not mind meeting up some time (although I guess it could be difficult if the Atlantic is between us!) ACEO 18:45, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I also appreciated your discussion. It's always heartening to see people taking the time to edit on Wikipedia who are truly knowledgeable about a particular topic; Wikipedia needs more such people.
I don't know when I might get to the UK next, but keep in the back of your mind that if you should ever have the opportunity to come to the Washington, D.C. area, you'll plan to contact me. Warm regards, DoctorW 00:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FAC nominations and categories[edit]

Hi ACEO, I noticed this edit of yours — I'm assuming you wanted to add yourself to the category. To do this, you need to add [[Category:Wikipedians in England]] to the bottom of your user page. I also fixed your FAC nomination for Creativity. Templates such as {{FAC}} are called like {{this}} instead of [[this]]. As step six of Wikipedia:Featured article candidates suggests, you might want to add a quick note about why you are nominating Creativity for featured status on its FAC subpage.

I hope you find this helpful — feel free to ask if you have any questions, and thanks for your interest in the featured article process! Pagrashtak 20:14, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for doing this, I never cease to marvel about how many things there are to learn about the glorious world of Wikipedia! ACEO 19:23, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Creativity and intelligence[edit]

(not sure if you saw my message on the creativity talk page): ACEO - Thanks for your Creativity & intelligence contribution. This is clearly an important perspective. Do you, or anyone else, think it might fit better as a subheading under "Creativity in psychology & cognitive science"? To me it is a subset of the discussion of psychology rather than a main heading. --BrettRob 22:17, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I have moved it - the structure made more sense to me that way. I look forward to seeing any other material you add. My time is unfortunately very short these days or I would do more myself. Note that there is a brief reference to Simonton under Creativity#Creativity_in_other_professions (you probably already noticed that), but feel free to expand/move/etc. --BrettRob 23:45, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hypoglycemia Unawareness[edit]

Noticed your note on this page Hypoglycemia unawareness, suggesting it could be merged with other articles. As part of theWikipedia:WikiProject_Wikify, I found the text on the page on a Yahoo! site. I'm new to this, so have tagged it accordingly - can you have a quick check for me to make sure I've done it correctly if you get a few minutes? Thanks! Nelbs 23:02, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox grouping[edit]

Grouping your userboxes is quite simple. Insert {{userboxtop|?}} above some userboxes, with ? being replaced by what you want to call the group of userboxes. Below the userboxes you want to group, add {{userboxbottom}}. For example:

{{userboxtop|Stuff that has no relation to chocolate milk}}
{{User:UBX/Undecided}}
{{User WPFishes}}
{{userboxbottom}}

Creates:

Thank you for your attention[edit]

Thank you for your attention and I'm glad for your help. I was looking through the history page and found that most of the redundant edits were made by anonymous users from Keene State College. I'm planning to send an e-mail to the department chair of psychology about this problem and I would like your opinion.--Janarius 15:19, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Susan Menees,

(tab)My name is Wai Yen Tang, psychology undergraduate at Concordia University, Montreal. I’m a wikipedia user who is monitoring the personality psychology article. It has come to my attention that anonymous user(s) traced to Keene State College has added or edited content that are redundant or that overlaps with other topics other than personality. It is likely these user(s) are psychology student(s). You may verify the history page of the article and edits made by the user(s) with the starting IP address number:158.65. Although, I have left messages indicating the problem, I’m uncertain whether the message has been received. I would like to remind the anonymous user(s) to consider the encyclopedic length and content of a wikipedia article.

Thank you, Wai Yen Tang

(The e-mail address is smenees@keene.edu, I have a feeling that I left out something important...)

(here's the additional info that you recommended)

Most of the theoretical sections contain detailed descriptions of experiments or case studies from notable psychologists which has little relevance to personality than to their respective fields. Notably, the paragraphs about Albert Ellis and Aaron Beck are more in line with psychotherapy than personality. Finally, the object relations theory seems out of place in relation to other theories in the article.

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello ACEO! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
