Request reason:

Hello! Our public library's IP was blocked from creating new accounts today. We're trying to host an edit-a-thon for Art + Feminism today (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Minneapolis/ArtAndFeminism/Minneapolis_Central_Library_2017), and so it would be great if we could get unblocked. I tried emailing unblock-en-l@lists.wikimedia.org like the block's page said, but was directed to do this instead. Account creation from this IP address (207.225.131.142) has been temporarily restricted. This is probably due to persistent vandalism from the IP address you are editing from, which may be shared by many people if you are connected to the Internet via a proxy server (used by most schools and corporations and some Internet service providers) or dial-up access. To request that an account be created for you, please fill out this form to request a username. We recommend that you first search in the list of all users to ensure that your desired username is not taken. For all other inquiries, send an email to unblock-en-l@lists.wikimedia.org with details of your IP address, the administrator who blocked you and the reason they gave (this information is available below). We apologise for any inconvenience caused to any innocent users. Information about the block: account creation from this IP address (207.225.131.142) was blocked by Materialscientist, who gave the reason {

Accept reason:

I've unblocked the ip address. If you still have any issues please let us know. Coffee // have a cup // beans // 17:49, 11 March 2017 (UTC)

A belated welcome!

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Ben the Bos. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Hi Ben,

It was nice to meet you at the Art + Feminism event this past Saturday! Let's keep in touch about the Wiki Loves Pride event, or about anything else...I am still working on the Fierce Pussy article and trying to get some help through Women in Red...have you heard about their online event? If any Twin Cities folks missed out on Saturday's editathon it's not too late to make an edit in the spirit of Women's History Month:

Hoping you enjoyed the recently-held in-person Art+Feminism meetup,
we cordially invite you continue your participation by joining the
virtual worldwide online event
hosted by Women in Red.

Wiki Loves Pride 2016

You are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:13, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
