I am still surprised to see that you are still not a member of one of the most active Wikiprojects WP:INDIA and hence decided to drop this invite note for you -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 15:11, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I thank you for your message. I have seen your edits and contributions, and all are really valuable. In fact, I was a member of a number of Wiki Projects including Wiki Project India, but came out of these Projects for various reasons. I shall surly join Wiki Project India again. I also thank you for the barnstar. Regards. --Bhadani (talk) 16:46, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dating Wikify Tags[edit]

I see you've been adding dates to wikify tags. I thought you might want to know that a bot regularly goes through and applies dates to wikify tags. -- Whpq (talk) 14:54, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I feel highly relieved to learn this bit of information. All these days, I have been working like a bot perhaps :) Thanks. --Bhadani (talk) 14:57, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Now that you aren't dating the tags and have more time available, you might want to join Project Wikify! Cheers -- Whpq (talk) 15:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We are working on the same wavelength! I was just thinking to do something real like "really" wikifying the contents. --Bhadani (talk) 15:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

South east asia project tags...[edit]

Hello there. What is your criteria for placing a SE Asia project tag? Is it anything that is in South East Asia? For example, anything that falls, say, in the Indonesia project? --Merbabu (talk) 03:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is based on the contents of this page: Wikipedia:WikiProject Southeast Asia. Tagging pages always attract people to the pages concerned who may be interested in the development of the contents of those pages. --Bhadani (talk) 03:52, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Clarifications: It is based on this request appearing: Place the {{WikiProject Southeast Asia}} banner on the talk pages of all related articles. I think that I have cleared your doubts. Cheers. --Bhadani (talk) 03:55, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By what criteria do you judge, for example, Kendal Regency, applicable to the South East Asia project? --Merbabu (talk) 06:59, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Self-reverts by Satu for the sake of record and reference - links added by User:Bhadani

Reverted self rather than striking out - my sincerest apologies for my comments which I made - there is a small problem that I could have offered a much more AGF conciliatory tone - I do hope that I have the opportunity at a later date to actually explain in a much more detailed manner what the problem for the Indonesian project is without being so unreasnoable to your hard work. Please accept a delayed explanation some time soon again apologies SatuSuro 13:46, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello old friend! I see you're stirring up my friends from the Indo-Aus projects. :) I don't really think there's any reason for anyone to get uptight about the cats but prolly best to talk it over as it seems like wide overlapping. Hey Bhadani, it's nice to see you around again. :) I haven't seen you for ages. I hope your family, work etc are all going well, Bhadani. Cheers, Sarah 12:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I thank you all, especially the emotion-filled message from Sarah, for pointing out the exact position, and the complications involved. Moreover, there is no need for any apology by Satu. Probably, I fully understand the position now. Let me assure you all that there was no motive while tagging the pages except the reason as mentioned in my earlier clarifications - in short, drawing the attention of other editors interested in the topics to enable them to find in one place all the pages related to Southeast Asia. I was not knowing that my tagging shall cause so much agitation. Anyway, I promise that I shall shortly (say within next one week) be reverting the tags which I may have put on Indonesia-related pages. Moreover, I do not desire to enter into lengthy interaction on different Project pages covering the countries of Southeast Asia. And, Sarah :) I am all right - me, my family members; and I am enjoying my work and life... I also convey my best wishes to you. --Bhadani (talk) 15:30, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Naming Question[edit]

Hi Bhadani! I knew I'd end up coming your way with a question or three. This one comes from a lack of explanatory English-language sources to clarify what the proper name of a place is. We currently have two articles on the same fort:

I'm thinking the latter is the proper name based on the infobox and the former (which was kept at AfD should be a re-direct as a valid search name. Does that make sense according to Indian names for places? We've had little input at the merge discussion and no objection along with some consensus at the AfD but my concern is whether Sudhagad might also be a town-name and whether we in fact need a disambig page.

I'm not sure whether this is an area of India you're familiar with, but I wanted to get your input. Thanks so much! TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 15:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will come back soon, say in a day or two. --Bhadani (talk) 15:41, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, no rush whatsoever. Thanks again! TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 15:46, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page spam[edit]

Please stop spamming so many talk pages with tpg. Its not needed William M. Connolley (talk) 17:59, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I was tagging pages covered under Category:Disputed territories with tpg. I am tagging these pages with the officially available template keeping in view the volatile nature of the pages covered under the category - disputed territories, to help the user, present and future, of the talk pages of those particular pages. As such, I do not find anything unusual which I am doing that is beyond the official editing norms of the Project. However, in view of your remarks, I would like to have other opinions about the use of this template on talk pages covered under the category - disputed territories before I stop tagging the pages. You are most welcome to seek more opinions on the talk page of Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Cheers and have a nice day. --Bhadani (talk) 00:24, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For record: Please be guided by generally accepted policies for reverting the genuine edits. --Bhadani (talk) 01:54, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well don't do it. All the pages I reverted, and many many others that you mistakenly tagged, were completely non-controversial pages. As you would have seen had you stopped to even look at them. Did you look at them? Are you using a bot for this tagging? William M. Connolley (talk) 07:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot find where this spam can be discussed so I put a note here: Wikipedia_talk:Talk_page_guidelines#Talk_page_guidelines. FWIW I agree these extra clutter on talk pages are totally unwanted. --BozMo talk 08:50, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. If it is the views of both of you, I am inclined to agree, and shall not do any more talk page tagging for the time being with tpg unless warranted otherwise. I feel that this shall satisfy both of you. As such, I request you to please feel happy at having prevailed upon me and stopped me from tagging the tpg tl. However, there are many pages which require references. Should I tag them suitably with {{unreferenced}} template? I am seeking your views as I do not want to see any of you unhappy and agitated once I start tagging the articles which lack references. I am sure that both of you may not have any objection to this as we all want well referenced contents. I also request both of you to kindly keep a careful watch on all my edits, and feel free to interact with me. BTW, I have never used any bot, and I also do not know much about using the same. --Bhadani (talk) 15:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the message. I shall join you in happiness. On the template I think the answer is only if it will speed up them getting references, but that's up to your judgement of course. --BozMo talk 17:42, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I sincerely appreciate the feel of camaraderie in your message - we are the biggest online community in human history, and we should always work happily here as well as in real life :) --Bhadani (talk) 17:45, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way I see from the photo caption with you and Jimbo that you are Indian. So could I ask you a little favour? I make the final selection of articles for the Schools Wikipedia which is widely distributed in India by the charity I work for (SOS Children's Villages) and several third party distributers. But I have had the complaint that the material is too European. Is this list the right place to start for India articles or is there a better list? Thanks --BozMo talk 17:48, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I read about you on your page, and you are doing really valuable work. I will try to do something - let me probe a little deeper. Regards. --Bhadani (talk) 17:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
While tagging is valuable, that value strongly depends on the appropriateness of the tag. While references should be provided for all articles, they are actually not required for entirely uncontroversial statements. Mass tagging or drive-by tagging is often seen as unfriendly, wether justified or not. I think your time would be better spend if you combine tagging with actually helping a few articles to solve the problem you tag it for. To add another perspective: If it's trivial to see that an article needs a tag, there is not much value in adding it. --Stephan Schulz (talk) 18:11, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My doubts are getting clear, and I shall rather try to add references than simply tagging. Thanks. --Bhadani (talk) 18:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP Scotland tags[edit]

Whilst its not doing any harm, I assume you are aware that Wikiproject Scottish Islands is a part of Wikiproject Scotland and that these tags are effectively duplicates? Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 15:56, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message and the information. I am aware of the position indicated by you, I shall be more careful in using the the appropriate tags so as to avoid clutter and confusion, and also remove the unnecessary tags. However, I want a suggestion: I found that many articles under the category of geography of Scotland also bear the tags WikiProject United Kingdom. What should be my approach? Should they be tagged with {{WP Scotland}} or just they should be left with the existing tags. In my opinion, such pages may be tagged with an additional tag of {{WP Scotland}}. Regards. --Bhadani (talk) 16:19, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you need remove any tags that are already there, either UK or Scotland. UK/Scotland issues are generally quite complex. WP Scotland for example is clear that it is not a subsidiary of UK geography, so I would definitely add {{WP Scotland}} where relevant. All the best, Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 16:35, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I sincerely thank you for your suggestions. My mental association with beautiful Scotland extends to my childhood when I had first read Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Regards. --Bhadani (talk) 16:44, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Tagging[edit]

I see that you are tagging lots of articles with project banners recently... Just in case you are not using, are you aware of using AWB with Kingboyk Plugin ? It is very easy for doing this ... or I have an easier suggestion... I operate a bot TinucherianBot which can tag for any project template based to categories. I guess it will save a lot of time and work for you... Regards -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 06:12, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Tinujee. I thank you for your suggestion, and will come back to you for guidance and suggestions. Regards. --Bhadani (talk) 17:02, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou[edit]

Its a very strange landscape - but hey we'll be ok :) SatuSuro 14:46, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice - I do understand. I shall tread with utmost care, and shall do very simple edits (like punctuation, spelling, very minor copyedit, etc. without altering the contents. In the process, I shall know more about the fourth largest populous country of the world. --Bhadani (talk) 14:50, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
