Welcome to Middle-earth WikiProject![edit]

Hello, BillWSmithJr!

Thank you for joining WikiProject Middle-earth and contributing to improve Tolkien-related articles. We are glad to have you join in the effort!

Here're some good links and subpages related to our WikiProject.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask on our talk page.

Thank you for your contributions and have fun editing!

Also, sorry this sounds like a form letter, but my to quote Powers, "something is better than nothing" and since I alone tend to welcome members of WP:Me, it's difficult to come up with a personalized message for each and new member now that the WikiProject is expanding. But if you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask me! :)Mirlen 05:22, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the welcome, Mirlen! :) --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 20:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Twain[edit]

Hello Mr. Smith. they had three daughters and he became the closest with his youngest. when he was on world tour his daughter died and his wife soon followed, leaving him sad, more pessimistic and alone.

If this is not vandalism, I don't know what to call it. (Wikimachine 17:09, 3 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]

It looks accurate from what I know of Clemens' life. Powers T 02:21, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shaking hands[edit]

So, we meet again :-) Thanks for replying to IP75 on my talkpage. Comparing how you and I have interacted with each other, to how we've both reacted to him/her/it, I can only conclude that this kind of thing doesn't bring out the best in either of us. I don't mean that as criticism, just an explanation for why I'm trying to disengage. It doesn't seem likely that any kind of reasonable or productive discourse would actually occur. On the other hand, I ended up enjoying that little flurry of activity at Greek mythology; to an outside observer we must have looked like the 3 Stooges :-) Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 06:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My hair started falling out a few years ago, so I will be Curly. With a sobriquet like Doc you MUST be Moe. Now we just need to find Larry and we can head to Vegas.

I actually rewrote my response to hir 3 times before I hit Save page. Each time I re-read it, a little voice said 'attack the arguement, not the person!' but it was NOT easy. I have been active online since WAY before the Internet. If you wanna find out who and what I am, try Googling Brewers' Witch BBS and soc.religion.pagan. I have been dealing with trolls, and dropping them dead, since before most online folks got out of diapers, and earned my asbestos underwear and sacred snowball balista in the days of alt.pagan. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 11:50, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LMAO! I know what you mean about the 'Save' button, too. I deleted so many responses that I eventually just gave up. I see that you're involved in big projects already (and we have several interests in common), but if you have the time and inclination you might review Christmas. I suspect you could bring a lot to the article :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 01:36, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I HAVE looked at it, and it is on my watchlist. Will jump in if I have anything to add. I WAS hoping to see something there regarding the specific steps the RCC took to force XMas to coincide with the Winter Solstice, but I was heartened to see the section on Saturnalia. :) BTW, did you know that historical Jesus, if he ever existed, was actually born sometime in the spring, probably very close to Easter? It is the only time of year in that part of the world that the shepherds would have been "in the fields, keeping their sheep" as it is birthing time. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 23:41, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I stepped on your toes on Talk:Mead. I had only seen the literary ref you had there, and I was mostly trying to move the old pro-Poland stuff out of newbie sight. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 12:37, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning vandals[edit]

I suggest you read up on our policies for warning vandals at WP:VAND. This user was unwarned, and adding a statement like that will not get any admin's attention, because they don't see the page: please warn repeat vandals first, then report to WP:AIV. Worse, it will reward the behavior: WP:DFTT. Patstuarttalk|edits 16:16, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok, I will read up on it... however, I am not sure WHICH user you are referring to, as I have reverted and/or placed messages on the talk pages of several vandals recently, some of whom have LONG histories of vandalism. :) --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 16:21, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you are referring to User_talk:24.177.132.131, I can see why this IP has NOT been PermaBan'd, but seriously, if his school is filled with persons of THIS caliber, do we want them editing? (Hell, I am not sure they should be acredited if this is the type of person they seem to attract!) --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 16:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I was referring to that user, as you added a statement along the lines of "ADMINS PLEASE BLOCK THIS USER NOW", which is WP:DFTT in the making. But, for your reference, we do not permaban IPs (with the exception of open proxies, and, rarely, home addresses for longterm serious vandals), as you can see from the WP:BLOCK link or the vandalism one I gave above. Patstuarttalk|edits 17:09, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I saw that. thanks for reminding me, btw, of the WP:VAND page. I have bookmarked it now and will use the test series of tags for future notes to vandals. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 17:11, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is good advice above...also...thanks for making my day with this amusing diff [1]! Happy editing,--Kukini 17:48, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia!!![edit]

Wow, thanks for the HUGE block of stuff on my talk page! I feel very at-home now. :) While I am glad that my comment amused you, I am not exactly new. Anyway, I am moving your info blick to the top of my page to replace the original welcome message I got, as I like the format of this one better! --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 17:57, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah...we are a friendly bunch. By the welcome, I didn't mean to offend. Just thought it had a LOT better links than the welcome you had up there. --Kukini 19:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL! No offense taken! I although I have gotten VERY good at wiki-code (I am the primary template author/maintainer at EQ2i.com, a wiki for EverQuest II info) I am still a relative n00b regarding WP:POLICY. --Bill W. Smith, Jr.

A little help if you don't mind[edit]

While trying my hand at RC Patrolling I came across this page, Patrick_Fisher. It struck me as immediately odd, especially since through the day I think I had seen dozens of similar pages where a page had been created with very little info, sometimes with a pic, profiling a person way too young to possible qualify as Notable. Then I looked at the talk page and found 2 comments, both unsigned but with one signed by a bot. Through the length of my examination I uncovered that all of the comments as well as the article itself, were all left by the same user! He was entering unsigned comments on the talk page congratulating himself for making such an important page.

Now we come to my question? What to do? Nominate the page for deletion? Warn the user to stop being a moron? Warning I know how to do (test1, test2, etc) but an AfD proposal... I know it is done, no idea how to do it. Advice? --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 05:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once you've determined that the article is about a clearly non-notable person, the steps are easy:
  1. Add the tag {{db-bio}} to the top of the article.
  2. Review the page history to find the author, and let him know that his article has been tagged for speedy deletion using {{nn-warn}}.
All done! For more information, refer to WP:SPEEDY. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 05:34, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Jim, for spotting my confusion and helping out. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 05:38, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted the article. -- Gogo Dodo 05:44, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, took me all of one minute. I noticed your plea for help to Patstuart; his page is on my watch list. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 05:45, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IPBan...how?[edit]

How do you propose an IPBan? I can't find anything on Wikipedia explaining in an in-depth way how, because this guy's been getting on my nerves. Big time! You saw yourself in the Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. CBFan 16:44, 13 January 2007 (UTC)CBFan.[reply]

Frankly, I find myself not caring. I find that all 3 of you should probably be blocked for a cooling off period and the CB page protected for a similar time period. As far as it goes for IPBan, and admin can do it. It involves blocking a user by the IP they use. BTW, I have removed the CB page from my watchlist. G'day. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 16:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's only two of us...me, and that other guy. And in all fairnessy, I can't really stay around if he keeps editing EVERY true bit of information I post just because he refuses to agree with it. CBFan 17:11, 13 January 2007 (UTC)CBFan.[reply]

I saw 3... 1 anon user on one side, you and another registered user on the other, but I may not have been paying close enough attention. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 18:39, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

24[edit]

Hey can you please tell me why the 24 tv show page is locked for edits I wanted to add more information about the dvd that came out yesterday but it wouldn't let me edit. I noticed you were one of the last edits so you must be an admin. Please comment me because I don't have an account page.

It is locked only to unregistered users. Create an account and you will be able to edit the page. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 05:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

vandalism to user page[edit]

The last time my user page was edited by someone else you spotted it within a minute. Is there a way to watch for changes like this? My page was edited again today. This time I'm amused by the change and will leave it alone for a while. But I liked the fact that an admin could spot a change like this almost immediately. Paul 02:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I Am Not An Admin[edit]

Anyone can do what I have been doing this week. Just watch Recentchanges, hide registered users, and refresh it. I have yet to EVER refresh without seeing at least one change that needs to be reverted. Watch for large red numbers indicating the editor removed alot of lines. This is usually vandalism. :) Anyway, I am not an admin so can't really help you. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 05:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bill, you did help me with your explanation. Thank you. Paul

Vandalism[edit]

You asked: "I am not sure what the policy is on removing garbage like the above from a Talk page..."

You can revert it on sight, but always leave a {{Anon vandal}} tag on the IP's user page so it's documented. IP vandals usually vandalize numerous entries. Sorry about being snappy at you on the wikiproject page - it is just a frustrating situation, and as an outsider to the discussion, there is no way I could expect you to catch all the nuances of the discussion and vitriol this user has projected. - WeniWidiWiki 16:40, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you can explain it to me, because Stbalbach's request for WP:WPN members to speak up seemed reasonable to me, given the mention of germanic recon. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 17:00, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The user has left comments on my talk page, and has been literally arguing about this for months. None of the arguments in *this RfC* have anything to do with recon or Germanic neopaganism. The phrase was mentioned once by another user and he was belittled for it. The only reason I mentioned it on the wikiproject page was for other recons who actually have a good grounding in the ancient world and Roman history to give their opinion if they felt like it. However, in retrospect I think it looked like a request for help or a call for pagan solidarity or something, so I removed it.- WeniWidiWiki 17:20, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok. Well, I wish you luck then. I have added that RfC page to my watchlist and will continue to check it out, but doubt I really have anything to add other than moral support. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. 17:24, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated the article Council of Magickal Arts for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Council of Magickal Arts. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Council of Magickal Arts during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. THANK YOU[edit]

I am blessed with 3 daughters. I am blessed with sobriety for 12 years. By God's grace I am blessed to be here. I am truly grateful for your kind words and your help. I do not know how to do a smile face, but I am smiling because of you. Thank you. --Lee Nysted 13:43, 24 January 2007

Mr. Smith,

I am happy to see your work here, and thank you for your assistance in the article that is no longer up, about Lee Nysted. Could you help create the article? I know that is quite a lot to ask, but I do not know the "ropes" here, as of yet. Mr. Dewart will help, I believe.

Thanks, C.H.Huntress829 17:02, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am just sorry that I could not convince the deletionista's to back off. Seems to me that by every measure requested you were satisfying WP:N. WP:V was there, and WP:RS was looking better, but they would rather delete and salt than ever see a new article appear. I am not sure that I will be able to assist in rewriting the article, though, and after that you will need to submit it for a deletion review before recreating it in the main namespace. Take my advice, do all the work first in the sandbox, invite friends to help review the article, and THEN submit it. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 19:59, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. The name of the band was not salted so it can be re-written and re-entered with "substantial changes." Rambling Man has agreed to assist. C.H. and SMDewart will be in charge with RM, and I will get out of the way. LN. I will keep you posted. Lee.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lee_Nysted 22:36, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD: The Midnight Rider[edit]

Bill - Hi there. Although the character of the Midnight Rider has only existed for a few weeks, he is already an important part of the "storyline" that is the Ron and Fez show. It is a gimmick and a character, but notable in that he's a part of the show, a radio personality heard by millions of people on XM, and therefore notable. The nomination for deletion came from an biased source, as the person who plays the character has some very vocal detractors in the XM community. (See his comments - "stupid radio gimmic" [sic]) I think that goes against WP:POV. MattyFridays 17:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just took a second look and changed my vote... from Delete to Strong Delete. The article has NO hope of being sufficiently sourced to support notability. It should have been a speedy delete. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 19:18, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy! Sorry about the delay, I just saw your notes about the OR/Verifiable situation at the above talk page. Hopefully that clears up any misunderstandings that may have occurred. - fmmarianicolon | Talk 19:52, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thank you[edit]

i would just like to say thankyou for making the Pagan's night out page i have found it very useful for i am in the process of making a large project on Paganism —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Onaga (talkcontribs) 11:14, 9 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Re: Prod[edit]

Yes I did read it and I don't want to sound like a prick but...why? As I laid out in the Prod: Fails WP:BIO, WP:WEB, no assertion of notability made and is totally unattributed to any reliable sources. I'm not sure what material there is that meets policy that could be merged. If you really want you could de-prod the article but I will take it to WP:AfD and I'm not seeing it survive there either. NeoFreak 18:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I said on YOUR talk page, it is obvious you have a strong anti-pagan bias. Why should I expect anything reasonable out of you? Like a said, delete it if that makes you happy. I hope your meds help. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 18:20, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Despite your accusations I don't have an "anti-Pagan bias" I just have a "pro-policy" bias. Nice attitude though, hope that helps you out. If you would like to talk to me like an adult feel free to do so on my talk page. If not, don't bother. NeoFreak 18:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because many of your various edit summary comments and some of the phrasing on your list is VERY adult, isn't it? ie New Age articles - hahaha, wow and Are you fucking serious and The idiot's version of an article and Who gives a shit is all talking like and acting like an adult.--Vidkun 18:28, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't believe I'm biting but sure, those comments are simple (and crude) commentary on the content of those articles, not their subjects or the editors that have contributed to them. With the exception of the "Who gives a shit"...because honestly...who gives a shit about a USENET group? These comments in my usersub space are a far cry from accusatory statments directed at another editor. But whatever, if either of you want to discuss my prods or anything else that's fine, I'll do my best not to bite, sorry if I've came off as abbrasive. NeoFreak 18:34, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, your edit summary on this very page is a personal attack.--Vidkun 18:50, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletionistas[edit]

I am not the first to point this out, and certainly won't be the last, but the attack dogs of WikiProject Deletion will, sooner or later, be the death of Wikipedia. Some say it has already happened. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 19:04, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject MMO Newsletter - April 2007[edit]

Questions, comments, and concerns
For general questions, comments, and concerns, leave a message on our talk page here. For questions, comments, and concerns about our newsletter, leave a message on the talk page for the newsletter section of our Outreach Department here.
New good articles and featured articles
Good articles and featured articles are a great way to see what major acomplishments we have made over the last quarter.

Good articles

Featured articles
None this quarter!

Role call
We ask that within a month, all members sign our role call to show that they are still active participants in the project. More information is available on the role call page.
Major news
WikiProject RuneScape, our former child project, was moved to become a task force of this project in January as it had a small scope but the task force is still going strong to this very day.

This past quarter marks the beginning of our new collaboration system MMOGCM. Past collaborations thus far have been World of Warcraft and MMORPG, both of which made it to GA status while it was the MMOGCM.

As well, we now have an Outreach Department which works on this newsletter as well as spreads the word of our project.

WikiProject MMO is also now a participant in the Work via WikiProjects division of Wikipedia 1.0 and as such, we will be helping decide which are the best (based on quality and importance) articles within our scope. Project members can discuss which articles are to be included here.

News from the RuneScape Task Force
We are currently trying to improve this task force so that we can edit all RuneScape-related articles in an organized manner. To do that we started a massive overhaul which we invite all task force members to participate in.

We have also gotten our main article, RuneScape to good article status this quarter. All this, and the task force was only created in January.

Signed...
Greeves, Ed

On behalf of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on McGonigel's Mucky Duck Pub, by Danelo, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because McGonigel's Mucky Duck Pub fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
Unremarkable company

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting McGonigel's Mucky Duck Pub, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate McGonigel's Mucky Duck Pub itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:17, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing. I don't check WP for a couple of days, and this happens. Notice posted to my talk page on the 6th (my birthday), I check WP in the wee hours of the 8th and a page I authored is gone. Just gone. There was no discussion. The deltionista that proposed it for speed delete did not even bother to tell me. A BOT had to do it! --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 06:44, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not letting you know, but the article definitely met this this criteria for speedy deletion (from Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion):
Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. -- Danelo 18:40, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Mucky Duck has been awarded Best Acoustic Venue in Houston by Houston Press every single year since it's doors opened. It has hosted national and international stars in the folk and acoustic scene including The Tannahill Weavers, Peter Yarrow and The Chieftains, and is booked solid 6 mos in advance. I Was pretty sure I mentioned this in the article, but I can't check it now... --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 23:20, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you can cite all this up with reliable sources and pass the notability guideline, esp the organizations guideline then I'd back you up on recreating the article. NeoFreak 05:29, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If I can track down all the local press coverage regarding the Duck, I might could satisfy you. I have reviewed the organizations guideline and thank it is doable. I will look for the cites, and rebuild the article in my sandbox. When I think I have it ready to withstand scrutiny I will let you know. Thank you, Neofreak. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 04:22, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Remember, even if you don't have refs that you can link to you can always sight the newspaper or any other reliable publication that is relavent. Tell me if you need any help. NeoFreak 06:51, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images[edit]

You might want to go give a rationale on the FP cover before it gets deleted....--SarekOfVulcan 16:11, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me, but... Huh? I put the rationale right there on the image summary. Is this not the way I am supposed to do it? It is a book cover. The article is about the language the book defines. The image of the cover is fair use in an article or review of said book. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 06:47, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EQ II Article update[edit]

Hey Bill, I'm interested in doing a rework of the EQ II article as it is very out of date, I was wondering if you would be interested in assisting? As you know there are many nonexistent articles for cities like Qyenos, Freeport, as well as Gods and Lore. It would be nice to bring the article up to the same standards as other MMORPG articles on Wiki. Let me know what you think?

Martinj63 22:24, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to, but as one of the 3 active admins on EQ2i my wiki-time is pretty full. Still, I will be happy to do what I can. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 11:34, 4 September 2007 (UTC) aka FlorenceSopher of EQ2i[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Charles Ennis.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:04, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Accordsummer2002cover.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Accordsummer2002cover.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:31, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May I suggest[edit]

That you learn the basic rules of wikipedia? You can't nominate pages for speedy deletion because you don't like the subject. Speedy delete is not to be used in content disputes. Consider this your final warning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.151.19.142 (talk) 11:17, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  1. 1, I have no idea what you are talking about. #2, like I am gonna take seriously a "final warning" from an anonymous user. Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 17:05, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Brigids crossing marker.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Brigids crossing marker.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:29, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Richard William Dowling.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
