June 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Louise Robey appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Pinkadelica Say it... 02:12, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Louise Robey[edit]

I understand you're attempting to improve the Louise Robey article, however Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text which is why I keep reverting your edits. It appears that the text you have attempted to add numerous times is copied directly from Robey's official site. Please read WP:COPYVIO to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policy regarding copyright. Please do not add the text back again unless you have rewritten it in your own words and sourced it properly. Thanks! Pinkadelica Say it... 03:15, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I welcome improvements to the page and you're free to update any information that you feel is is not up to date, but those changes need reliable sources to verify the content given. At the present, you're only copying content from her official site and pasting it into the article which is a copyright violation (please read WP:COPYVIO) which, again, is why I continue to revert your additions. Wikipedia cannot accept text that is presented elsewhere unless it has been officially released into public domain by the author. If you'd like to rewrite the article, I suggest you rewrite what you're attempting to add in your own words, mind the neutral point of view policy, and add a reliable source to the content you're adding. If you need help with that, I'll be happy to help but continuously adding the same content despite warnings is not going to work. Also, please be aware that Wikipedia has a three revert rule to which you are coming close to breaking which could result in a block. Thanks. Pinkadelica Say it... 17:16, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The content you're attempt to add is a copied from this link. I don't know who asked you to rewrite the article or who "us" is, but again, you can not simply copy and paste text from another website into an article here. That is a copyright violation. If you read the message below, another editor has also pointed out that the text you have repeatedly attempted to add is not acceptable in the content of Wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia, not a fansite. Terms like "her great beauty" and "legendary" are not acceptable. If you want to update the page, simply rewrite the text in your own words and cite a reliable source. As for the email you posted on my talk page, I've no idea what the point in that is. I have no stake in the article and no one here is working against you. Like any website, we have policies and rules that we must adhere to which is all anyone is trying to do. I strongly suggest you stop adding the text you've attempted to add numerous times and read up on how to properly write and format an article before editing again. The template located at the top of your talk page has links to all the guides that can help you. Lastly, regarding the litigation remark in the posted email to my talk page, I'd like you to read Wikipedia's policy on no legal threats. Pinkadelica Say it... 16:10, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Louise Robey[edit]

Regarding this note. There are a couple issues with this. If you are Robey's husband, then you should not be editing the article about her because of conflict of interest concerns. The most you or Robey should be doing in regard to the article is making suggestions on the talk page of the article for other editors to consider. Secondly, it is not Louise Robey's article to change, it is an article about her. It cannot be written from the perspective of "her own words". Besides the conflict of interest issues, using the content from her website is a copyright violation. It cannot be posted the way that you have. It is a violation of law. Finally, there are guidelines and policies that cover neutrality of content, including the use of what is defined as weasel words and peacock terms.

Content such as "Discovered by legendary French photographer Jacques Henri Lartigue while sunbathing on the French Riviera, Robey began modeling and appeared in the magazines Paris Match and French Vogue . In the late 1970's while busking in the streets of Paris her great beauty..." and "Louise and the band had the world at their feet" (what does that even mean????) contain the bolded peacock terms, and "the famous gay club The Saint also in New York ...The Trocadero Transfer in San Francisco and many clubs and television appearances nationally and worldwide ... this produced a huge amount of radio play for her music" and "She has received many accolades and much current interest from her long list of old and growing list of new fans" is strictly promotional and non-specific and has much too much hyperbole and weasel terms. This article is not a promotional vehicle for Louise Robey, it is a straight biography. Please do not continue to violate Wikipedia policy by returning copyright violations, fluffery and hyperbole.

Finally, you are presently in danger of violating WP:3RR, which prohibits reverting content more than 3 times in 24 hours, or editing in a manner which would violate the spirit of 3RR. That will gt you blocked faster than anything else. Wildhartlivie (talk) 17:13, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page postings[edit]

Please note that it is improper to post email addresses to talk pages such as you did here. That cannot be allowed due to privacy concerns. Also note that your revert under your IP number did put you in violation of WP:3RR. Please revisit the comment I left above concerning ownership of articles and conflict of interest. You or Louise Robey cannot direct or control the information contained in her article. Wikipedia is not a publicity site, nor can it be used to promote content Robey wishes for it to contain. And no, it will not result in litigation, but it could result in your access to the site being blocked for WP:COI editing. As I suggested, if you have content you would like included, with proper 3rd party reliable sourcing, then suggestions should be made on the article talk page and not into the article itself. That is not allowed. Wildhartlivie (talk) 21:08, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
