Hey :)[edit]

Hey Glen, how're you going? Haven't seen you around in a while, so I hope you're enjoying your break! Quick question for you, you can answer whenever you're back and whenever you feel up for it, or not at all :) How do you think I'm going overall? Any problems that you can tell? Take care mate. Cheers, – Riana 05:32, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lies, lies, lies[edit]

I am writing because Muchness lied to you about me. I have not been reverting; I always placed the template on the most recent version of the article so as to allow other editors to contribute. I never got an attempt at discussion on my talk page; all I got from them is personal attacks and abusive warnings. Muchness is trying to act like he's an uninvolved third party, but he has voted on the poll and is lying about me in order to force his version of the article. Those are accounts that are on Wikipedia only to denigrate people with mental disorders. --Mihai cartoaje 05:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glen[edit]

File:Stollery.jpg

You don't have to hide your picture Glen. It is a nice picture. I have noticed that you make your own warning templates. That is kind of intersting. They are bright and colorful and gets the vandals attention.

But why did you moved your user page to your talk page? King Lopez Contribs 08:25, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I like it too. You look happy and healthy. Dfrg.msc 10:58, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's been too long[edit]

Since we last talked. How was your Easter? I trust it was happy and safe. I see your on Wiki-break, that's were I'd be if I weren't stuck here. Well, my internet has been up and down for the best part of the month, and I'm sorry I did not talk to you sooner. I've a few more questions about Wikipedia's RfA processes.

  • Is there really a "good time" to run for Adminship?
  • Does a Strong/weak Support count more/less? What about Strong Oppose? What about Mega-Support or Tarragon Support? ?
  • Is the object, "reaching a consensus" mean 50%+ support and your in?
  • What was your RfA like?
  • I know the process can be hard, did it change you in any way?

Anytime you find the answers Glen, I'd appreciate it. Cheers, Dfrg.msc 11:37, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Glen! Now, enjoy your Wikibreak. Cheers, Dfrg.msc 22:47, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the vote of confidence, bud! I'll keep an eye on the page. Enjoy your break and don't feel like you have to rush back :) Take care, – Riana 17:52, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks from me, too, Glen. I feel honoured to be included in your list. :) Have a good break and look forward to seeing you when you return. Cheers, Sarah 11:36, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Glen. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:AngelcoverQ.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Glen/Admin coaching/CSD5. Some Wikipedia problems[edit]

Hi Glen,

Could you please help me with advice with respect to some problems which I am encountering with some Wikipedia articles. Thanks.

  • I have been encountering problems with Rebecca who is insisting that a former Premier of Queensland, Thomas Joseph Ryan, should have a page with the name T. J. Ryan, rather than Thomas J. Ryan (Australian politician) and has been continually reverting my moves of his page to Thomas J. Ryan (Australian politician) back to T. J. Ryan. In desperation, I have finally moved the title to Thomas J. Ryan (Premier of Queensland), because I feel that the name of a person should be given as the article title instead of just using the person's initials (I consider using only initials rudeness when the person's name is actually known — especially within an encyclopedia). Also, there is an American congressman with the name Thomas J. Ryan (Thomas Jefferson Ryan), so if the initials T. J. Ryan, only, are used for the Australian politician, then this could cause confusion and irritation to people who are interested in accessing information regarding the American congressman.
  • Could you please let me know if single episode pages are permitted or allowed on Wikipedia. The reason why I am asking is because of comments about the single episode pages of The Goodies (TV series) which are being made on the Talk:List of The Goodies episodes page by TTN, who is demanding that further information should be given on the pages to make them acceptable as Wikipedia articles.
  • Could you also please let me know whether, or not, flags (for the country of birth) should be put into biography infoboxes in articles about people. This has been a problem for some time now. I feel that flags should be uniform by either being put in all infoboxes for people — or else not being put in any of the infoboxes for the people. At the moment, individual editors are deciding whether, or not, flags are put in people's infoboxes (with some flags being removed from the inboxes by people who do not approve of them being in infoboxes). I think that the stance should be made on an official level about whether or not to have flags in the infobox — I do not consider that it should be just left to individual users' own personal opinions regarding the matter.
  • Also, with regard to flags, some people want to have the flag for the United Kingdom (which covers the four countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) in infoboxes for English-born people, instead of the English Flag. I feel that the English flag should be used for people born in England, that the Scottish flag should used for people born in Scotland, and that the Welsh flag should be used for people who were born in Wales etc., as I consider the flag for the United Kingdom (UK) (which is short for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) covers too large an area as the 'flag for the country of birth'.

Your comments regarding the above problems would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I feel that I should mention that the continual hassle I am experiencing with the continual reverting by Rebecca, and the problems I am encountering with TTN, are not only tedius, but are effectively stopping me from contributing constructively to Wikipedia as an editor, as well as causing depression and trauma. 203.18.238.26 Please ban this user for constant vandalism.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Thedjatclubrock (talkcontribs)

Glen doesn't seem to be here much at the moment, so you might be better addressing your concerns about vandals at WP:AIV. However, in this case, the anon has only made three edits this month, one of which was clear vandalism, one I can't tell because I don't know the subject, but no one has reverted, and the final one was to a template sandbox. I suggest you remove your warning for this last edit because any reasonable edit to a sandbox is permitted. In short, no ban is warranted.-gadfium 23:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:K9-rx_box.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 13:53, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:BrettScallions.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BrettScallions.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:14, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
