Still FAC things

Your most recent archive summary seems like you're still glum about the Torchic FAC - is it true? It's certainly not going badly, there are only a couple of objections not yet addressed, and a whole lot of supports! Try and think positively, I bet it can make it this time. -- Natalya 19:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Shiny Pokémon

The Italian Wikipedia is quite amazing; they have shinies of everything, even Mew and Celebi! I'm uploading Red Gyarados and green Mewtwo. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 21:01, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

They also have a shiny Torchic; do think this would add to the article or not? smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 15:31, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

A Barnstar for you!

The Editor's Barnstar
For excellent work in helping to keep unsubstantiated rumors out of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl article, I award HighwayCello the Editor's Barnstar. Sparky Lurkdragon 06:36, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

About ILoveMinun

HighwayCello, please hear me out on this one. I know that you had issues with ILM. I'm not exactly sure how or why it got all started, and it doesn't really matter. What I do want is an end to this argument right now.
I know you want the best for the Pokémon section on Wikipedia; your contributions reflect that. I also know that the more time you spend bickering with ILM, the less time you have to do what you really want to do: improve Wikipedia to the highest quality. I think all of us at the PCP project would feel better if this arument ended as soon as possible. So, please, try to reconcile with him as soon as possible so we can maintain focus where focus is needed. PCEevee talk 22:22, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, I can't say I didn't try to be neutral here. (I'm planning to join Esperanza as soon as the council gets off WikiBreak, so I wanted to try to resolve a disupte) Now I really don't think I can be neutral anymore. Sorry you had to go through this...again. PCEevee talk 19:40, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
P.S. Apparently I didn't congratulate you for getting Torchic to FAC status yet, so I would give you the bag I got from JAA yesterday for buying something from the Pokémon Center there (it's big and orange and features a very enlarged picture of Torchic; its the only Pokémon on the bag) if I could take pictures and upload them onto my computer... PCEevee talk 19:40, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

A barnstar?! I couldn't imagine the day that I got one of these! Thanks! To tell the truth, I was thinking of giving you a barnstar for your hard work on Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but I see that Sparky the Seventh Chaos has already got that covered.

Question about Fair use images for failed Twilight Zone article

Hi. You recently failed The Twilight Zone (1959 TV series) for good article status, stating that none of the images have fair use rationales. I looked at them and they have the tags, so can tell me what I have to do? - Zone46 23:40, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Level headers vs. lists

The reason why I converted to lists in Super Smash Bros. Brawl was because I didn't think that each character deserved its own header. It made the TOc ridiculously long. Besdies that, TOCs shouldn't be decided over an issue of "what's easier to edit"; they should be decided on what flows better, is a more nautral division. Hbdragon88 00:46, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

*Sigh*

I was really hoping that he was over this by now; I'm trying to work on getting Airbus A380 to featured status, and annoyingly, the Peer Review said everything was fine and dandy with the article, but then at the FAC, a million and one faults surface. Was Torchic the same? smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 18:39, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

I can guess; people seem a whole lot less biased against big pieces of metal than cute little chickens! I think it's OK; I just wish people had gotten it of their chest at the Peer Review, when I had two weeks to fix stuff, rather than today, when I have less than 24 hours until I'm back at school! I think the shiny buzz is because I only found the images the other day, and it kind of makes up for my losing shiny Gyrados... My RfA

Hello, HighwayCello/Archive/7, and thank you for the supportive vote and kind words on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 84/1/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! Wikistress

Hello, I know we have barely had any contact with each other, but you seem Wikistressed, and I thought I would stop by. I'm stressed right now too, both in life, and to a lesser extent on the Wiki. However, in just two days time, I leave for China to fulfill a dream. I know it sucks when people don't seem to acknowledge your efforts, I'm going through the very same thing in real life right now. All the same, I've realized that the real world is where life is lived. I'm Wikibreaking for a while, but you don't even have to do that. Just take a moment to remember that Wikipedia plays only one small part in what I can only guess is your very successful life. I apologize for the incoherent nature of this message, but I'm in that sort of mood right now. Time to get back to my Wikibreak and into the real world again. --Danaman5 04:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Happy editing! :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 22:10, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Japanese names

Dude, those are the Japanese names. I'm just making them all the same style, and using the "Trademarked Rōmaji" from List of Pokémon by National Pokédex number. As the Trademarked Rōmaji or Romanization only style is what's used by the two FAs, I decided to go with that. I decided to go with Trademarked Rōmaji, as they're what the names were intended to be before they were forced to fit in the Japanese language. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 06:46, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Golduck is his Japanese name, as indicated by List of Pokémon by National Pokédex number. Again, I'm going on the Romanization given by Nintendo, not the actual Hepburn romanization system. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 07:22, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Pokémon Adventures

Hey Smaht, since you have indepth knowledge in Pokémon Adventures, could you perhaps write a small section on Golduck about Blue's? I am having trouble pinning down information about it. The article is quite good, but lacks a manga section whatever. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:04, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Done. I’ll add anything pertinent from the G/S/C saga when I finish reading it. -- WikidSmaht (talk) 20:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Highway. First I would like to thank you for your suggestions on the Lord of the Rings article, I believe they have helped it considerably. I have since cited all of the citations which were marked as needed and the article is now bordering on fifty references. If there are more places where you believe they are needed please insert them and if not please see if there is anything else you can suggest for improving the article. If niether of these is the case please consider reconsidering your objection. Thanks again, SorryGuy 21:21, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi there. I wrote (or rather rewrote) a lot of the introduction (or rather the summary lead section) for The Lord of the Rings. I noticed that you said bits are "dodgy" at the FAC commentary of the article. Would you be able to let me know which bits you think are dodgy. I would be very happy to defend what I wrote and chase up the necessary citations.

Speaking of which, I noticed you added a lot of "citation needed" stuff to the back story and synopsis. Isn't this a case of going too far? Anyone who hasn't read LotR and the other books will need references for everything, and someone who has read LotR and the other books will need less references. Where should the dividing line be drawn? Carcharoth 21:54, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi, SorryGuy asked me to add the {{fact}} notes, which, no offence, I think is neccessary. References aren't just there to back up further information you couldn't write in the article, they are a source of where you found the information. If you don't have sources, all you have is 50kb of original research, and what good is that? All you need to do is cite the books, it isn't that hard. Find the (unfinished) comments here, and in regards to the double information, it's more or less the same text twice. But cited once, double oops. ;) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:59, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I think you've misunderstood me. I know what references are for, and SorryGuy has provided most of them now, though I have plans to provide references that are less "secondary" (ie. actual quotes from Tolkien's letters and the main Tolkien criticism books, rather than secondary articles published on websites). What I was asking was what in particular you found "dodgy" about the introduction, other than the bits you asked for citations on.
And you haven't answered my original question about where to draw the lines with citations for plot summaries. One idea I had was to make clear which bits are from LotR, which from Silm, which from The Hobbit, and so on. But this will require more work than just having one person cite what they want references for. It has to be undersatndable for everyone. I am quite prepared to do the work, but I think the best thing to do is take out your "citation needed" bits and start from scratch with referencing the whole back story and synopsis. Carcharoth 22:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your support
