A belated welcome![edit]

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Hume42. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! Babymissfortune 05:15, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes you just got to wipe the blackboard clean[edit]

When there are a *lot* of vandal edits going on nearly simultaneously and consecutively, you just have to pick a time before all those edits and revert back to that. So I skipped back over ~20 edits to a time prior to the flinging of poo. It is nearly impossible to "clean up" when *5* different IPs are having a meeting at an article.

BTW: There are rules on _everything_ here at Wikipedia, and so rules about reverting. But looking at WP:Edit_warring#3RR_exemptions shows "Reverting obvious vandalism" has few if any limitations. Thanks for looking around and helping out. Shenme (talk) 06:34, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jorhat[edit]

Hi Hume42,

I am reaching out to you as you have recently patrolled and prevented indiscriminate inclusions in the Jorhat page. I have tried to remove personal WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV of editors that they've included stating Jorhat as the second biggest city after Guwahati in Assam without convincing reliable WP:BESTSOURCES. There has been multiple attempts to promote misleading claims to misguide WP:USERs. I tagged the page with Verifiability and Advert templates to bring attention to the readers and editors that many parts of the article require refinements, as it contains statements which are either personal views and not substantiated with credible sources and good references or WP:SYNTHESIS. However, many editors are constantly making WP:DISRUPT edits with indiscriminate inclusions, such as modifying the municipal area of the place, area ranking without citing sources.

Particularly, I would like to draw attention to the IP 42.110.147.255 and the user Hardeep111 who appear to be the same person, and has been persistently disrupting the content and removing and disregarding notices without any regard to the core content policies of NPOV, WP:V and WP:NOR. I consider this as an act of WP:VD and would encourage you to warn and educate the 42.110.147.255 and Hardeep111. If you feel the best way to stop disruptive edits is to WP:SILVERLOCK to validate pending changes, please advise.

Thanks.
