February 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Houston Film Critics Society Awards 2022, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. We usually don't use stylized titles throughout articles as per WP:STYLIZED. For example in Damn (Kendrick Lamar album), the album is referred to as "Damn" throughout the article, not "DAMN."  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 00:35, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Rachel zegler graham norton.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rachel zegler graham norton.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:30, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Rachel zegler graham norton.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxjLLzRibIw. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 07:08, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

The association's own Twitter account is a primary source, which cannot be used to establish notability. From a Wikipedia standpoint, notability is not established by verifying facts, it's established by demonstrating that media considered the facts to be significant enough to report as news — so notability requires sourcing the article to journalistic reportage of the award announcements in media outlets that are independent of the association treating its awards as newsworthy, and cannot be established by sourcing the article to the association's own social networking profiles. Bearcat (talk) 01:42, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, here is the official website confirming the two categories. I have also linked another source. https://torontofilmcritics.com/past-award-winners/ Kidsocarides (talk) 04:01, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those are still primary sources, which still do not serve as evidence of the awards' notability. Again, notability is not established by verifying that the thing happened, it's established by showing that journalists considered the thing's happening to be newsworthy — so it can't be established by any source self-published by the TFCA, and requires sources published by media outlets. Disambiguation link notification for January 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited Florida Film Critics Circle Award for Best Screenplay, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tony McNamara. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
