the glamour is mostly what she's all about, (certainly not elegance or grace). I've put a bit of it back in.

3RR[edit]

You are about to violate Wikipedia:3RR on Turkification. If you continue reverting you might be blocked temporarily.   /FunkyFly.talk_  02:54, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Turkification[edit]

If it's all the same to you, I think I'll stay out of what looks like a particularly nasty edit war either brewing or in progress. If you're concerned about repeated POV additions and so on, you may want to get in touch with an admin. BigHaz 12:29, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some nasty POV statements in there, needs rewriting more than reverting. I'll try do it sometime. --A.Garnet 13:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If worst comes to worst, I could be persuaded to have a look at it after the smoke has cleared to make certain that it all adds up, but jumping into an edit war doesn't look much fun to me. BigHaz 22:13, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Out of curiosity, what seems to be the problem with the article? At the risk of saying totally the wrong thing, there's nothing massively inaccurate-looking about it. BigHaz 03:59, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, no i didn't. But here is pretending to be a Turk: [1]--A.Garnet 09:17, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Turkification[edit]

Hi Kilhan! Thanks for your message. For the picture: I noticed that you had removed it for the second time, but I thought you must have had a good reason, therefore I didn't and won't re-insert it again. If you ask me, I like that picture. The girl at the left end looks like the twin sister - of my sister:) (She's in San Fransisco:, rather far away). But I leave you the decision. For the Turkification article, my observation is that we need here an article for Turk-bashing, an indispensable need for some. Adamlar hala oradalar! Some of the pages that could possible serve the same end treat subjects that are too serious. In that sense, I think the Turkification article fits such a function perfectly. But I'll keep an eye on the article:) Keep up the good work:) User:Cretanforever p.s. What do you think our chances are for moving Hajji Bektash Wali to Hacı Bektash Veli.

The article wasn't deleted, as you may or may not have heard elsewhere, so I'm canvassing opinions for what to rename it to/merge it to on its relevant talk page. All reasonable suggestions will be entertained. BigHaz 10:49, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, the merge can be done without any AfD-related process, it's just a matter of coming up with a consensus about where to put what. After that, we may need to AfD the article (or indeed something less time-consuming, depending on what's left). BigHaz 22:01, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About template Turkic States[edit]

Hey, how are you? Some editors protected Turkic States template with too many falses. Template:Turkic States For example; Yakutia is a Turkic State too and there it teaches to kids in school but some racist editors deleted it. Can you take a look? I dont have command for to change. Hope you can do something for right information.

Sincerely,

Zaparojdik

Sultanahmet Mosque on Turkey article[edit]

pontian genocide/massacre/whatever[edit]

Hi. I recently got inadvertently embroiled in the dispute on Talk:Pontian_Greek_Genocide. What fun. I just wanted you to know that I read through the entire discussion (again, what fun!) and I thought that your suggestion of "Pontian Greek Genocide Thesis" was the only reasonable alternative. I simply will not get involved in a war, so I won't edit the talk page in question again. I do, however, encourage you to read more of the debate on the talk page of the article, as well as on my talk page, and re-add your opinion into the fray. However, if you choose to do so, please remember WP:AGF and WP:NPA as well as WP:NPOV and WP:OR. Judging from your previous edits of the talk page above, I doubt that abiding by these guidelines and policies will be any problem whatsoever. You seem to have conducted yourself with exemplary restraint, levelheadedness and discipline (having, like me, only posted once)... I encourage you to re-join the fray. --Storkk 02:44, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Have you ever heard of John Ilhan? Any idea what his original name (back in Turkey) is? —Khoikhoi 04:55, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man. I found one source that says his family was originally from Yozgat, but do you know of any sources that say he was born there? (sorry to bug you) :p —Khoikhoi 05:09, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adem Yze is Albanian[edit]

Adem Yze is not Turkish. He is of Albanian descent. --

I think you've got me mixed up with someone else. I wasn't the one who added him--Kilhan 04:41, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

I know that etymology is the correct name, but I changed it after having a look at other Featured Article countries Canada and Australia.. We were trying to restructure the article to get it to FA.. Why did u remove the Maslak picture from the Economy section? It was a pretty good pic :))Baristarim 04:20, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've messaged the uploader to see if he got permission from the photographer to release all rights. I found it odd that there was no wowturkey caption on the bottom, i thought he may have secured the photos individually. In the meantime it may be best to leave your one. Thanks, --A.Garnet 13:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've spoken to User:Shuppiluliuma, and it seems he is an administrator from wowturkey.com, i've told him that the photos must be allowed for commercial purposes and he seems ok with that. Take a look for yourself if you want. --A.Garnet 20:12, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request of assistance for vandal user behaviour by Khoikhoi[edit]

Could the administation and contributors take an independent look for the following reversal of useful and pertinent contributions at the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk site please? It is very difficult for me not to interpret the revision by Khoikhoi as disrespectful vandalism. More I studied his log history at various article related to the Turkish subjects and prior bans for the same disruptive behaviour, more concerned I became. Could someone help revert the edits he damaged and request him to be more respectful to others' work? Thank you.

Image:Umitdavala.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Umitdavala.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof 04:49, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kenan evren.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kenan evren.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 19:45, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't the rationale for Kenan Evren already there? DenizTC 11:01, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kenan evren.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kenan evren.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:53, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of List of Turkish-Americans[edit]

List of Turkish-Americans, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of Turkish-Americans satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Turkish-Americans and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of Turkish-Americans during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Leuko 18:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TurkishYTL.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TurkishYTL.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:29, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
