Hi, I really cannot understand why you changed my page for "The Westin Excelsior, Rome" so completely. You moved it to a new location, "Westin Excelsior", when the existing name is the full official name of the hotel. You marked it as an advertisement when there is nothing in the text that promotes the hotel in any way, just a list of relevant facts. You also suggested it for deletion, which I do not understand, as it is a world famous historic hotel over a century old. I'm sure we can resolve this misunderstanding, but I have restored the page to its original appearance in the meantime, though I have added a few more sources and can gladly add even more if you want. Best, James User:Jamesluckard (talk) 22:35, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

The article was renamed to match what most other notable articles on hotels are named. If this is the "official name" that's fine. Though it appears the "official" name does not include a comma. It was marked with concerns about reading like an advertisement because it is not clear how this article might meet notability guidelines. Wikipedia is not for advertising businesses nor is a travel website. This hotel must meet notability guidelines for businesses which, based on the current article, it does not.--RadioFan (talk) 00:27, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
RadioFan, can you direct me to the "notability guidelines" you mention and explain how this page possibly fails to meet them? It is for one of the most famous hotels in Rome, over 100 years old, listing notable events and cultural associations, including famous films shot there. There are hundreds of articles about other hotels that have far less information, do you intend to delete them all too? This is in no way an advertisement. I have absolutely no connection to the hotel and there is nothing whatsoever in the article that promotes the hotel or its facilities or offers an opinion about its merits in any way whatsoever. There are many pages on here that I have seen for businesses that truly do advertise them, offering opinion, or lists of facilities. Those should definitely be cleaned up. However I cannot understand why you have targeted this page in particular for deletion. It is a well-known historical site in Rome. If you demand that I find more events that have taken place there, I'm sure it can be done. I simply listed the first few I found, I fully intended to flesh out the page, as I have done with others. As for the official name, it includes the comma in some sources - the official Westin website, etc, while leaving it off in other places. That point is certainly debatable, and I'm fine with the comma being left off.User:Jamesluckard (talk) 7:55, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
WP:CORP is a good place to start. The age of the hotel doesn't demonstrate its notability, nor does it being "famous". Notability is demonstrated through significant coverage in 3rd party sources.--RadioFan (talk) 02:42, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Rollback

It looks like you used the rollback tool to make this revert of a good-faith edit by an established user. Could you please confirm? – Juliancolton | Talk 19:52, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

it also looks like I corrected that mistake immediately. Could you please confirm? Please dont tool or template the regulars, the briefest of looks at this article's history would have made what happened clear.--RadioFan (talk) 22:27, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Who templated anybody? I'm not sure you'll find my original message in any template, but perhaps I've missed something. Participating in a days-long low-grade edit war and using the rollback tool to do so comes across quite abusive. – Juliancolton | Talk 23:08, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, your message read like a template especially since it was left without consulting the article history very closely. Insisting an editor demonstrating ownership of an article gain consensus before removing material is hardly an edit war, low-grade or otherwise. Please look deeper at situations before passing judgment.--RadioFan (talk) 23:36, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
I've followed the article since its creation, as with most tropical cyclone article. That particular image and its caption have both been changed something like a dozen times over a few days, and to prevent the situation escalating it's important to avoid unnecessary conflict (including implicitly labeling an edit as vandalism). I genuinely wasn't sure whether your reversion had been done with rollback or a similar tool, which is why I asked for clarification. It's no longer important, just... try not to press too many unnecessary buttons, literally and figuratively. Best, – Juliancolton | Talk 00:06, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

AFC reminder

Hey RadioFan,

I saw that you declined an AFC over ref formatting in 2013. That's practically ancient history, but I thought I'd take a minute to say that's technically not a reason for declining submissions. If you're interested, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions#General standards and invalid reasons for declining a submission. Otherwise, no worries: it was a long time ago. Happy editing, WhatamIdoing (talk) 15:28, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Not really clear what you are referring to here but keep in mind that It's not just formatting that is at issue, it's verifiability. If references aren't understandable enough to verify, they fail WP:V. Best to correct that while the article is still in AFC.--RadioFan (talk) 17:11, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
