The article Chennai Mass Rapid Transit System you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Chennai Mass Rapid Transit System for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Financial year[edit]

Hey, I don't get it why you removed the end date of the financial year of Air India. It is stated nowhere else in the article and helps to interpretate the figures and to know when it's time update them.

Hi, it was an oversight. It needs to be indicated as FY ends on different dates across countries. Also, in the table, it is better to indicate 2022 as 2021-22 and so on to be clearer. Thanks! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 14:03, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Taj Mahal[edit]

Hey, thanks for the GA nomination. DreamRimmer, along with me were under the process of bringing it upto GA for the past couple of months. Next time, when you are going for a GAC, please go through the article history and contact the major contributors of the article before massively editing and nominating within a span of 24 hours. Thanks and happy editing. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 13:40, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@The Herald Hi, I went through the history of the article later and found that you have been working on the article significantly. I know that the changes might seem a lot on the outset particularly for an article that has been listed as a good article previously. The edits fall into the following categories:
a. Re-wordings where it seemed to have been directly copied from the source quoted
b. Adding sources wherever it was not sourced, improperly or poorly sourced
c. Re-arranging sub headings and content within
d. Lead changes (Move citations to the body, edit as per quoted sources and corrections)
e. Places images at appropriate locations and remove galleries
f. Re-working on content on some of the sections
I am open for a discussion on the changes and will be happy to co-operate on getting the article back to GA status. Thanks in advance! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 13:52, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the update. Your edits were quite helpful and have improved the article significantly, closer to the green badge. There's still room for improvement and I'll be more than happy to co nominate the article for GA, along with DreamRimmer who did solid work too. Waiting for their reply. Thanks. Wherever the article needs improvement, let us work on it. Good to have different set of eyes looking into it. Cheers! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 14:02, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Bharat Maps[edit]

Hello Magentic Manifestations, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Bharat Maps, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bharat Maps.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Sohom Datta}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

April 2024[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Chennai Light Rail a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Chennai Metrolite. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 21:33, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks for the note. The article Chennai Metrolite was created as the original article Chennai Light Rail was not linked in any of the existing articles. If I would have been able to find the original article, this would have not been created in the first place. As the article was created, there was a merge proposal to merge both the articles. The newer article is not a subset or copy paste of the original article. As the newer article was better placed with suitable citations, following the consensus to merge, the articles were merged following due process. Not sure anything could have been done differently once the new article was created. Magentic Manifestations (talk) 03:01, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
