What Wikipedia is and isn't

Hi. I'm afraid you may have the wrong idea about Wikipedia. What it is: a serious project to create an encyclopedia. What it isn't (among other things): a social-networking site where anyone can post about themselves and their friends. If that's what you are after, try Facebook or Myspace or one of those. If you are interested in making useful contributions here, read the Introduction, the Five Pillars, and the Guide to creating your first article.
