Louisiana communities[edit]

Good job cleaning up the articles for all those Louisiana communities, they've needed some attention for a while. I've noticed a couple things in your edits that should be changed to conform with the guidelines for these articles:

  • You've been changing the section header "Notable natives" to "Notable People". Per the guidelines of WikiProject Cities this section should be titled "Notable natives and residents"
  • Another point on header titles. Only the first word should be capitalized unless its a proper noun, see here. For example "Notable natives and residents" is correct, while "Notable Natives and Residents" is not.
  • The individuals listed as notables should be listed alphabetically.
  • Finally, boldface should not be used for the names of people in these lists. If anything, the names should be wiki-linked to the article on the person. If they don't have an article, you can create a redlink.

Anyway, those are my observations that will help make your edits better. Keep up the hard work. VerruckteDan (talk) 02:47, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to help. If you have questions, let me know and I'll try to answer them. VerruckteDan (talk) 03:08, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, sorry to be annoying you with more stylistic notes, but I saw you've been adding Template:Louisiana to articles. Generally, templates should only be included on articles that contain a link to that article. VerruckteDan (talk) 03:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Louisiana parishes[edit]

I'm back with another comment. You've been editing lots of the parish articles and moving the sentence about the parish seat out of the intro. Stating the parish or county seat in the intro is a standard for US county articles. I think they should be restored to the original location. VerruckteDan (talk) 23:30, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your work on Louisiana parishes. I was going to make a similar comment, but see Dan beat me to it and you have made the changes. When you do something minor, would you mind marking it as such in your edit summary - it lets others hide it in their watch list. Thanks and keep up the good work, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 11:23, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I missed your comment on my talk page until now - sorry. Bot edits and minor edits (and your own edits) can be hidden in a watch list. Per WP:LEAD the lead is a summary of the article, so it is OK to have the county (or parish) seat in both the lead and then again in the Geography section. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
