Sorry to be obtuse, but in what way? I'm happy to do it, but what sort of language would you recommend? Wikipedia:Notability (software)

I was going to have a hand revising that, possibly today. I am still not very happy with the open-source section, and tend to think that it should be replaced with a more general section that mentions that factors such as the existing of publicity and marketing departments and the historical state of computing when the software was in widespread use.

This would not be intended to remake this into a "deletionist screed", but rather to address the issue of documenting, say, BBS software from the 1980s, where pseudonymous documents were the rule, and homebrewed packages became widespread, popular, and historically important. - Smerdis of Tlön (talk) 12:41, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Community de-Adminship - finalization poll for the CDA proposal

After tolling up the votes in the revision proposals, it emerged that 5.4 had the most support, but elements of that support remained unclear, and various comments throughout the polls needed consideration.

A finalisation poll (intended, if possible, to be one last poll before finalising the CDA proposal) has been run to;

• gather opinion on the 'consensus margin' (what percentages, if any, have the most support) and

• ascertain whether there is support for a 'two-phase' poll at the eventual RfC (not far off now), where CDA will finally be put to the community. Matt Lewis (talk) 01:03, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

The arbcom decided that such behavior is unimpeachable, so the only way to counter their actions is to counter-vote the delete votes when they are made for invalid reasons. Thank you for taking the time to comment at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people, which will delete the vast majority of 50,000 articles created by 17,400 editors, mostly new editors. I notice the AFD above, you may also be interested in the WP:Article Rescue Squadron. Our group has been working hard to find sources for the 236 articles which were deleted with no notice by 3 administrators. Ikip 04:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. I had nothing to do with the AfD above. I caught that on new page patrol. I merely moved it and tagged it (not with deletion templates). I know about Article Rescue Squadron, but I don't have the time to commit to such (see semi-retired notice).
