Speedy deletion nomination of Retrotope[edit]

Hello Oitio,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Retrotope for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Natureium (talk) 22:13, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As reviewing admin, I put on a tag that will postpone deletion for a day or two. But please see WP:NCORP. General experience has been that a single phase I drug is unlikely to make a company notable. DGG ( talk ) 22:27, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shall we add more information about these orphan (rare) but debilitating and life-shortening, while not affecting cognition, neurodegeneration disorders to this article? The drug is single but it represents a fundamentally novel approach (heavy isotope nutrient) to otherwise incurable conditions. And it is not a recent development (WP is not news) - it has been in development over many years and now got to the stage of FDA approval and clinical trials with published results. Oitio (talk) 23:03, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think the chemical is notable; the company is not. I'm going to list it for afd in a few days unless there are refs about the company itself that meet WP:NCORP. DGG ( talk ) 04:24, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Found and added a couple of references (the opening paragraph). Oitio (talk) 11:15, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 31[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Isotope effect on lipid peroxidation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Isotope effect. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:10, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started[edit]

Hello, Oitio. Thank you for your work on Chain reactions in living organisms. User:Alpha3031, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Hi Oitio! While chain reactions do occur in biological systems and processes, it does not appear to be a topic that is covered as a group and apart from other chain reactions in reliable sources. Usually, standalone articles are not created for these types of cross categorisations (WP:CROSSCAT). For this reason, I have redirected this title to the parent topic of chain reactions for now. Please let me know if you have any questions!

@Alpha3031: Hello Alpha3031. Why did you remove the content of the article and did not copy it to the section in chain reactions? Oitio (talk) 22:14, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Oitio. I mostly expected much of the coverage to remain on the articles on the individual chain reactions (e.g. lipid peroxidation) and thus had not fully considered whether more coverage would be appropriate at chain reactions. On review, I do now consider this a slight oversight, so thank you for your comment. I expect I will be able to copy some of it over in the next few hours, but in the meantime, if you would like to access a saved copy of what was there before (in case you do not know how) you may find it here. (I also apologise for not letting you know where this would be available before) Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions. Alpha3031 (tc) 09:32, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your comment. I can move the content but I am not convinced that the chain reactions in living organisms belong to the article that is explicitly about chain reactions in physics. It is a separate issue and I would prefer to see it as a separate article, maybe a list but two items are too few for a list. Oitio (talk) 14:20, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Alpha3031: I was pointed out to an article in a foreign scientific journal specifically devoted to the topic: Chain reactions in organic chemistry and biology. It justifies a separate article in wikipedia; other examples of chain reactions from that article should be added. Oitio (talk) 14:00, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've reversed the redirection for now if you want to add things in or just put a link somewhere, but please note that there are sometimes advantages in covering a topic as part of a broader parent article. The currently designated scope of the chain reaction article covers chemistry as well as physics, but it makes sense for there to at least be a summary, if not outright extending the article to fully cover the concept across the natural sciences. Hello, Oitio. Thank you for your work on Tom Brenna. Klbrain, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Thanks for starting the page on Tom Brenna. It's helpful to see the neat description of key areas of work, but the page is missing a chronological biographical narrative, which might be an area for improvement in the future.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
