User:Cottonapple4?[edit]

Hi, Pomeapplepome! I see you've been working on a bit of taxonomy. I was wondering if you might be a new user name for another user I had encountered, Cottonapple4 (talk · contribs). You seem to be editing the same kinds of articles. I just wanted to make you aware of Wikipedia policy that restricts users to one account (with some exceptions). It's ok if you are both, just make sure you stick to one account =)

Also, I wanted to mention our copyright policy with regard to images. The image I recently deleted, Image:Shipova.png, was copied directly from this website. Typically, the image copyright belongs to the website owner. If you are involved with Raintree Nursery or gave that photo to them, you can upload a higher resolution image and release it's copyright status here. If you're involved with Raintree, please follow the steps outlined at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Typically you must e-mail the foundation from an e-mail address associated with Raintree and set up an OTRS ticket. This is one of the only ways we're able to verify that you are indeed the copyright holder of the image you specified. I hope that helps. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 15:04, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pomeapplepome, Don't be too concerned about Rkitko and his suspicions of sockpuppetry - he's a bit paranoid on the topic! And I think he enjoys waving the big stick. ciao Rotational (talk) 18:25, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page moves[edit]

It's important to retain editing histories. For that reason I undid your copy-and-paste of Heteromeles arbutifolia to Heteromeles, and moved the page instead. In some cases such moves will require assistance from an administrator. You can make such requests at WP:RFM, or by asking any administrator directly. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:07, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Pomeapplepome. A reminder on this point. Please use the "move" tab at the top of the page instead of cutting and pasting, as you did here. See Help:Moving a page for more information. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 04:56, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dicots[edit]

G'day mate,

There's no such thing as a "dicot" any more. It turns out that the magnoliids, which had been considered dicots, are less closely related to them than the grasses are. Hence the three-way split into monocots, magnoliids and eudicots (eu- = "true"; so "true dicots"). I've deleted that category and necessarily reverted a couple of your changes. Category:Magnoliophyta probably needs to be decommissioned too, as that name is now very old hat.

Yes, I know the article taxoboxes all use "Magnoliophyta", "Magnoliopsida", etc; that is a problem that no-one has gotten around to fixing yet. I will fix the Rosaceae this week. Hesperian 23:27, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

November 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Filipendula ulmaria has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. This article should be redirected back to Ungnadia because it is a monotypic genus. --☺☻☼Pomeapplepome☼☻☺ (talk) 02:18, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done! Let me know if you find any more or you can always request the move at WP:RM. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 22:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

076Huertales[edit]

Hi, can you explain why you are doing this please? Hesperian 23:27, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
