Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Santosh K. Mehrotra, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.iamrindia.gov.in/_DGProfile.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Referencing[edit]

Your 'sources' are not written properly so are not appearing in the References section. They appear to be in-sufficient in any case. See Referencing for beginners. Also see My first article. --220 of Borg 05:52, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Santosh K. Mehrotra, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Trying to save the article on Santosh Mehrotra[edit]

Dear Santosh K. Mehrotra, I have trimmed the article on Santosh Mehrotra and am trying to make one more inaccordance with what I think wikipedia would like. My understanding is that Santosh Mehrotra easily meets Wikipedia's requirments for academic notability (WP:Prof) but the state of the article was such as to read like a promotional piece and your username indicates that it might be autobiographical. It is not really viewed as being good practice on Wikipedia for people to write about themselves or to have simply promotional articles. This sort of thing leads to some wikipedia regulars getting annoyed and wanting to delete such articles. Anyway you can see the debate about deleting here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Santosh Mehrotra. Please ask for help if needed, here, (I will watch this page) or at my talk page. Best wishes, (Msrasnw (talk) 18:47, 9 December 2014 (UTC)) PS: I used to have a copy of Development with a human face - Mehrotra and Jolly.[reply]

Dear User:Santosh K. Mehrotra, unfortunately despite my efforts the page on Santosh K. Mehrotra failed to survive the deletion debate. This was I think because of what was viewed as the over promotional autobiographic nature of the article as brought to the deletion debate and a failure by contributing editors to reconsider things after I had trimmed it down.
User:Stifle is the administrator who deleted it and I raised by concerns with him here User talk:Stifle#Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Santosh_Mehrotra. I also raised this with another administrator User:David Eppstein who is also an acadmic, and was I think responsible for the deletion of the article, here: User_talk:David_Eppstein#Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion.2FSantosh_Mehrotra. My plan is to work on a new draft here: User:Msrasnw/Afdthings and try again in the medium term if when there is more evidence of notability. Unfortunately thanks to David Eppstein the article has been salted which means only an administrator can redo it. I am very sorry about this but some of the administrators on here are in my view unreasonable and act beyond areas of their competance. I think it would be best to wait a while but if you wish you might ask for advice about this. Feel free to ask here or me on my talk page or Prof Eppstein or Stifle on their talk pages. Formally Wikipedia:Deletion review is the place to take dissagreement with the deletion but I think it might be difficult to get a successful outcome their given the people involved.
