File source problem with File:Uqwood.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Uqwood.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 12:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. A word on image uploading[edit]

I see you have (tried) to add source information to the image you uploaded. This is good but there are unfortunately still some problems.

  1. In order to update an image page it doesn't work to just upload a new version of the file. Instead you need to go to the image page (such as File:Uqliveris.jpg for example, see Help:Image page for details) and click the "Edit this page" link just like you would for an article. Then you can add source and license information there.
  2. You only provided the base URL for the site you got the image from (such as uq.edu.au, this is not sufficient, please provide a link to the page the image appears on whenever possible (of at least a description on how to find it in the case of framed or flash based pages that make it difficult to link directly to content).
  3. You still have not provided the required license information for most of these images, and for the few you did select a license for it is clearly not correct (such as File:Uqaibn.jpg where you picked the "I created this image myself and release it under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licese" option while the image was in fact taken from the University of Queensland website).

You can find a list of most of the accepted license options at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags, however note that in the case of all the images you have uploaded they are most likely not suitable for use on Wikipedia in the first place. Please have a look at Wikipedia:Image use policy, Wikipedia:Copyright and Wikipedia:Non-free content. Since the images you have uploaded where all taken from other websites that have not as far as I can see agreed to release the images under a free content license acceptable for use on Wikipedia they will most likely all be deleted, in a few narrow cases a non-free licensed image may still be used if it meets the policy criteria described on Wikipedia:Image use policy, however since most of the images are just photos of buildings and living public figures most of them would fail said criteria (notably number 1). --Sherool (talk) 20:42, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

University of Queensland[edit]

If you want UQ to be a quality Encyclopaedic article, then you should seriously take into consideration the issue of the overtly promotional nature of the current article. While one may argue that it is simply presenting information, the tone is inappropriate as it seems to shamelessly promote the subject matter. Reverting my edits without explanation is disruptive and is detrimental to the progress of the article. -Reconsider the static (talk) 13:41, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edit(s) to University of Queensland, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Replaceable fair use Image:Uqliveris.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Uqliveris.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 18:35, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Uqorg.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Uqorg.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Rettetast (talk) 18:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Uqlogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Uqlogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 18:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Uqpeter.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Uqpeter.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 18:39, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Gardasil.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You're one revert away from violating 3RR[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. -- Atamachat 03:20, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Icte uq.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Icte uq.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 22:06, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Decline reason:

If this account has been compromised it cannot be unblocked, as we have no way of telling if the original owner is back in control. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:30, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
