Welcome![edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Sonja Strom, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

I've noticed you've been editing Karat (band). There are several other articles you might want to expand, such as Pankow (German band), Gerhard Gundermann, and City (band), and we don't have an article at all for Renft yet.

One suggestion: Please try to make your edits all at once (or at least make several at the same time). This makes reading the edit history of an article a lot easier, and reduces the number of pages that need to be stored on the server. Regards, ProhibitOnions (T) 08:35, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I saw you'd uploaded the image above. Just to let you know, we need to have the exact copyright information that was on the German Wikipedia in order to use this image. The license tag you have now is incorrect, as the image does not show anything relating to Wikipedia or its software. I understand why you would use that, based on the source of the image, but unfortunately we can't use that tag. Could you provide a link to the image's page on the German Wiki? I might be able to help you figure out what to do. Thanks. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:47, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Commons logo
Wait, never mind, I just found it myself. In this case, we actually don't need to worry about it. The image is available on the Wikimedia Commons, a shared repository of images for all languages of Wikipedia. The same image you uploaded can be found here. Since they're duplicates, I've marked your image for deletion - if you were planning on using that image somewhere, you can use the version at the Commons in the exact same manner: [[Image:Herbert Dreilich.jpeg]]. In the future, you may want to check for the symbol at right before you upload an image you found on another language - if you see it, that means the image is already available to use under the same filename. Thanks for trying to help, though! Welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing as always. :-) Hersfold (t/a/c) 05:00, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've already tagged it for deletion - an administrator will come by shortly to deal with it. Don't worry about it too much. If you're interested, I think you'd be a good candidate for the Adopt-a-User program - it's a tutoring program designed for new users to work with an experienced editor until they learn the ropes. It works really well. I'd take you on myself, but I've already got an adoptee and don't have much spare time anyway. In any case, see you around the wiki! You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, Sonja Strom. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Bavarian Film Awards".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
