December 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Missvain (talk) 19:59, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:25, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese names[edit]

You should not be inserting Japanese script names unless the individual was known to use that writing. Japanese names can be written in different ways, so it's not always obvious which Kanji should be used. These individuals are usually referred to in Katakana names in Japanese sources. Daniel Inouye for example, is known as ダニエル・イノウエ. TarkusABtalk/contrib 19:10, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, for many of the individuals born prior to the first half of the 20th century, their kanji should utilize kyūjitai rather than shinjitai. If you insert unsourced kanji into biographical articles, especially with anachronistic shinjitai, these "contributions" may eventually be reverted.—Myasuda (talk) 13:55, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. This is regarding your additions of Japanese name scripture to Japanese-American names. You are adding a lot of unsourced and potentially incorrect information. I reverted all the changes out of precaution. Please refrain from doing these edits, or only add when sourced to a reliable source for that particular individual's name. Please include a citation for kanji characters in Japanese Americans' names[edit]

Hi there! I noticed that you added some kanji characters to James H. Wakatsuki and Kazuhisa Abe. I intentionally chose not to include any characters when I wrote the article because I couldn't find a Japanese source. If you have a source for these additions, please include them. For now, I'm going to revert them since there are a lot of kanji that can be read as "Hiroji", "Abe", and "Kazuhisa", and I don't think we should include characters unless we are sure they are correct. Thanks! Mcampany (talk) 20:42, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. There have now been three (3) people who take issue with your addition of kanji characters to names that are often unsourced. You have not responded to any of these concerns about your method and continue to make the edits in mass. If this continues I will request an indefinite block.
