Confounding fandom with encyclopedic content[edit]

Hi, and welcome to Wiki. I notice you are making changes in the music area, such as adding track lists. Since that material can be verified pretty easily, it's just exactly the sort of thing that Wiki wants and needs. In other articles, it's equally important to stick with statements that are cited, or which it's unlikely anyone will disagree with (the sun rises in the east, water can be solid or liquid, television is available in all major industrialized countries). However, just because something is true, doesn't mean it's appropriate for an article (think "Encyclopedia Britannica"). Sometimes, when editors are just dying to add a reference to their favorite group or show, it's so hard to work into the article that they put it in a Trivia section. As you've seen, Trivia sections are discouraged. There are a lot of reasons for this, one is that in some cases there's no limit to the number of trivial comments that could be added. (Imagine, for example, a Trivia section in the article Profanity!) Also, original research is more than discouraged, it's deleted. It takes awhile to get acquainted with the process, but many, many Wiki editors will be glad to discuss this with you, and I see Commander Keane has already offered.
